Good News for diploma holder in Engineering. IGNOU has launched B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering (Computer Integrated Management) programme for diploma-holders in engineering.
According to Gayatri Kansal,director, School of Engineering and Technology, IGNOU, “The four-year B Tech course is an opportunity for diploma-holders of engineering, who are working and cannot leave their jobs to pursue further education.” The programme consists of three modules — Diploma in Computer Integrated Manufacturing, (DCIM), Advanced Diploma in Computer Integrated Manufacturing, (ADCIM),and BTech degree.” In case, a student decides to drop out of the programme on completing a year of the BTech programme, he or she will be given the certification of DCIM. Similarly after two years of the programme, a student will be eligible for the ADCIM and after four years, for the BTech degree.The programme is designed to provide flexibility so that students can be awarded credits at different stages,” she said.
