Biotech Industrial Training Programme (BITP) 2007-08

Attention: Biotech Industry

Department of Biotechnology (DBT) invites requisitions from biotech companies interested to provide six months practical training to the post-graduates in biotechnology under the BITP. Candidates would be selected as per requisitions received from the companies. The companies would have no obligation towards any payments to trainees or for absorbing the trainees. The companies would be paid bench fee to cover expenses towards training. The programme is being implemented by Biotech Consortium India Limited (BCIL) since 1993 and many leading companies have found it to be an effective mechanism to select suitable prospective manpower. Biotech Companies are requested to send their requisitions online to BCIL. For details and “Requisition Form” please visit the website: www.bcil.nic.in.

Department of Biotechnology invites applications from post-graduates in biotechnology for practical training in biotech companies. Stipend of Rs.6,500/- p.m. will be paid to selected candidates.

The objective of BITP is to provide industrial exposure to students to improve job prospects and to help biotech industry to identify prospective manpower. Since 1993, hundreds of post-graduate students have been trained in leading biotech companies and several trainees have been absorbed.

Eligibility: M.Sc./M.Tech.(Molecular Biology & Human Genetics, Molecular Biology & Biotechnology, Neuro-Science, Biochemical Engineering & Biotechnology, Bio-process Technology, General / Agricultural / Industrial / Marine / Medical / Pharmaceutical / Environmental Biotechnology), M.V.Sc. (Animal Biotechnology), B.Tech. (Biotechnology), completed in the year 2006 or 2007 with minimum 60% marks or equivalent grade. Students from DBT supported teaching programmes will be given preference.

How to apply: The application would be accepted online through the Website: www.bcil.nic.in. A demand draft of Rs.200/- in favour of “Biotech Consortium India Limited, New Delhi” towards application fee alongwith a hard copy of the application submitted online is to be sent at the address mentioned below. Please write your Application no., name, date of birth and contact phone no. on the reverse side of the demand draft.

Hard copies of the applications and requisitions submitted online may please be sent by 27th July 2007.
