CAREER OPPORTUNITIES
The study of history offers many career possibilities. It is a fine preparation for more specialized work leading to careers in law, government, diplomacy, labor relations, public administration, journalism, publishing, librarianship, and business. Some students elect to complete a double major, teaming history with a more specifically career-oriented field such as journalism or telecommunications. Apart from the obvious careers of teaching and advanced historical scholarship, history majors have gone into work directly connected with historical analysis and interpretation such as museums.
