Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility criteria for admission to different medical courses at AIMS is as follows:
Age: Only those candidates whose date of birth fall on or before 31 December in the year of admission (at least 17 years of age as on 31 December in the year of admission) but have not crossed the age of 25 years as on 31st December in the year of admission are eligible to apply. Date of birth as recorded in the 10th standard/ School Leaving certificate will be taken as authentic.
Educational Qualifications: The candidate must have passed the Higher Secondary, or its equivalent examination in 1st attempt (exemptions may be considered only on medical grounds and the decision of the Principal of medical college will be final and binding), the last two years of which must include Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English.
Minimum Marks: The candidate must have obtained not less than 50% marks in English and a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together both at the qualifying examination and competitive examination. (For SC/ST candidates, minimum marks required is 40%)

Syllabus
The syllabus for Common Entrance Test is as per the 10 + 2 examination of CBSE pattern. Each MCQ consists of a stem and four responses, labelled A, B, C and D. Only one of the responses is correct and for each correct response the candidate will be awarded three marks and for each incorrect response one mark will be deducted from the total score.

Pattern of Entrance Examination
Common Entrance Test: All candidates willing to take admission in any of the medical stream of AIMS including NRIs/PIOs have to appear for the Common Entrance Test, conducted by the Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham for admission. The Test is common for MBBS/BDS/BSc Nursing.
The Common Entrance Test comprises of an objective type test of 180 minutes duration, containing 200 questions. Approximate distribution of questions for subjects will be English and General Knowledge - 20, Physics - 40; Chemistry - 60; and Biology - 80.

Eligibility Criteria for Admission to Post Graduate Degree and Diploma Courses of JIPMER (Jawahar Lal Nehru Institute of Post – Graduate Medical Education and research) is given below.
Nationality: An applicant for admission to Postgraduate Degree / Post graduate Diploma courses should be a RESIDENT INDIAN NATIONAL.
Educational Qualification: Candidates should have passed MBBS Degree of any University recognised by the Pondicherry University and the Medical Council of India and should have obtained permanent registration. The eligibility criteria for taking entrance test of MBBS and BDS courses of IMS-BHU is as follows :

SC/ST Candidates: 15% and 7.5% seats in each course are reserved for SC and ST category candidates. Candidates belonging to SC/ST categories are admitted on the basis of relaxed criteria (compared to GE / DS category candidates). GATE entrance examination is single paper of 3 hours duration and of 150 marks. The question paper is in English only. Before applying for GATE entrance examination, a candidates must assure that he/she has chosen the right optional subject, which enables him/her to become eligible to seek admission to the programme of interest.
