Pattern of Entrance Examination
Common Entrance Test: All candidates willing to take admission in any of the medical stream of AIMS including NRIs/PIOs have to appear for the Common Entrance Test, conducted by the Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham for admission. The Test is common for MBBS/BDS/BSc Nursing.
The Common Entrance Test comprises of an objective type test of 180 minutes duration, containing 200 questions. Approximate distribution of questions for subjects will be English and General Knowledge - 20, Physics - 40; Chemistry - 60; and Biology - 80.

Syllabus
The syllabus for Common Entrance Test is as per the 10 + 2 examination of CBSE pattern. Each MCQ consists of a stem and four responses, labelled A, B, C and D. Only one of the responses is correct and for each correct response the candidate will be awarded three marks and for each incorrect response one mark will be deducted from the total score.

Courses available at AIMS for undergraduate studies of medicine are

Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility criteria for admission to different medical courses at AIMS is as follows:
Age: Only those candidates whose date of birth fall on or before 31 December in the year of admission (at least 17 years of age as on 31 December in the year of admission) but have not crossed the age of 25 years as on 31st December in the year of admission are eligible to apply. Date of birth as recorded in the 10th standard/ School Leaving certificate will be taken as authentic.

The Combined Entrance Examination (CEE) consists of objective type questions in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (Combined). The syllabus of Combined Entrance Examination (CEE) is almost same to the class XI and class XII of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) course. The level of questions may be high.

Pattern of CEED examination / Structure of CEED Examination
CEED examination tests drawing skills, aesthetic sensibility, creativity, problem identification and approach to visual and mechanical design.
The examination also tests visualization, creativity, design and general awareness, and comprehension.
Test Pattern
The test hour of the exam is 2 hours. The test will consist of 150 questions (objective /multiple choice types) and it will consist of the following sections:
Verbal communication
Logical reasoning
Quantitative ability
Data interpretation ability
General business environment awareness
There is negative marking for incorrect answers. For a wrong answer to a question, 25% of the marks allotted to that question will be deducted.
The pattern of question paper is also subject to change in time to time.
Test Pattern
IBSAT is based on GMAT format with multiple choice questions and tests the applicant’s abilities in quantitative techniques, data adequacy, vocabulary, writing skills, analytical reasoning and reading comprehension.
Exam Pattern
Selection is based on merit in competitive entrance exam in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English. For qualifying the test 50% marks are required (25% in case of SC/ST, 35% for sports, children/grand children of political sufferers, handicapped, 1984 riot affected).

Each part comprises of 50 questions of one mark each. For each correct answer 1 mark is awarded. For each wrong answer 0.25 marks is deducted. Use of calculator is not permitted in the examination.

Examination Pattern
Scheme / Pattern of All India Competitive Examination
All India Competitive Examination (AICE) of ICAR consists of only one question paper consisting Objective type questions. The question paper is bilingual i.e. English and Hindi.
For stream A, the subjects composition is Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Agriculture.
For stream B, the subjects combination is Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
A candidate can choose any of the stream depending upon his / her subject of choice and eligibility.

Each paper shall have 100 Questions (Objective type) and total marks 1200.

Pattern of PGET Entrance Test
PGET consists of only one test for all Medical and Dental Courses respectively. The test contains 180 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) to be answered in 180 minutes.
Exam Pattern
For the admissions to the above courses for the academic year 2005-06, they will conduct AICET on Saturday, 30th April, 2005.
The AICET-2005 will be of three hours duration. There will be one question paper for the CET consisting 200 multiple choice questions (MCQ's), 50 each in Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology. Each correct answer carries one mark. There is no negative marking.
