AIPMT-All India Pre-Medical Test
All India Pre-Medical / Pre-Dental Entrance Test (AIPMT) is a national level entrance examination conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) . The admission for 15% of the total seats for medical/dental bachelor degree courses in medical colleges run by Union of India, state government, municipal and other local authorities in India except the state of Jammu & Kashmir is made on the basis of AIPMT merit list.
As per the revised scheme, the AIPMT examination is conducted in two stages :
Preliminary Examination and Final Examination .
Final Examination is only for those candidates who has found place in the CBSE-AIPMT preliminary examination.

PRE-MEDICAL/PHARMACY/NURSING TEST (PMT) for admission to MBBS/BDS B.Pharm/B.Sc. Government of India, nominees is exempted from appearing into this test.

Eligibility
The eligibility of candidates for appearing in CBSE – AIPMT is as follows:
Nationality: The candidate must be an Indian national.
Age: The candidate must have completed 17 years of age at the time of admission or should complete the same on or before December 31st of the year of admission.
Students belonging to the States of Andhra Pradesh / J & K are not eligible. For details – refer detailed Information Bulletin of CBSE for AIPMT.
Educational Qualifications: Candidates with Higher/Sr. Secondary Examination which is equivalent to 10+2 Higher/Sr. Secondary Examination after a period of 12 years study, the last two years of
Examination Pattern
The entrance examination for CBSE-AIPMT consists of two parts – Preliminary Examination and Final Examination.
Preliminary Examination : The Preliminary Examination consists of one paper of 3 hours duration containing 200 objective type questions
Final Examination : (Only for those who qualify in the Preliminary Examination)
The Final Examination would consist of two papers each of 2 hours duration.
Paper-1 would contain questions from Physics and Chemistry and
Paper-2 would contain questions from Biology (Botany & Zoology).
The Final Examination will have conventional (non-objective) questions to be answered in the Test Booklet supplied.
MCI / DCI Norms
Every student, selected for admission to the Post Graduate medical / dental course in any of the medical / dental institutions in the country, shall possess recognized M.B.B.S. / B.D.S. degree or equivalent qualification and should have obtained permanent registration with the Medical Council of India / Dental Council of India, or any of the State Medical / Dental Council or should obtain the same with in one month from the date of the admission, failing which the admission of the candidate shall be cancelled.

The Annamalai University conducts Medical Entrance Examination Every year for admission towards various Undergraduate Medical Courses into its Medicine department, The Rajah Muthiah Medical College and Hospital.
The University offers Under Graduate course in medicine leading to MBBS, B.P.T. Programme. The programmes are recognised by Medical Council of India (MCI).
MBBS – Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery programme of Annamalai University is recognised by Medical Council of India. The duration of the course is 5 ½ years including internship.
B.P.T. – Bachelor of Physiotherapy programme of Annamalai University is 4 ½ years duration

In 1823, the French Government established the "Ecole de Medicine de Pondichery". In 13th July 1964, the Government of India renamed it as Jawaharlal Institute of Post-graduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER). The institute is headed by Director as its Chief Executive. Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences was given a status of Deemed University from 29th September, 2004 by Human Resource Development Ministry, Govt. of India on the advice of UGC under section (3) of UGC Act 1956.
