Seat Allocation The total available seats for full time B.E. degree program are 706 at present. The seat distribution is as follows:- Category - I Open Competition 31% Backward Class 30% Most Backward Class 20% Scheduled Caste 18% Scheduled Tribe 1% Among the above reservations, 3% seats have been included for disabled persons laid down by the Government. Category – II Twenty one seats are reserved on the request of the Government of India, Ministry of Human Resources Development (Department of Education) for Foreign students, Students from Indian States and Union Territories lacking facilities, and Sons and wards of India-based staff posted abroad etc. Two seats are reserved for sons and daughters of defence personnel

Procedure for Conduct of Examination and Use of Answer Sheet Procedure for conduct of examination and instructions for use of the Test Booklet and Answer Sheet are given in Appendix VII. Candidates are advised to go through carefully before going for the Examination.

Selection Procedure An entrance examination is conducted by the University generally in the month of May every year. The final selection is made on the basis of performance in qualifying examination and performance in the entrance examination. Application Procedure Application form along with the information bulletin can be obtained from the notified branches of Canara Bank in Pondicherry on cash payment of Rs. 250 (Rs. 50 for SC/ST candidates). Application form can also be obtained by post by sending a self-addressed and stamped (Rs. 15) envelope of size 25*18 cm along with a crossed demand draft of Rs. 250 in favour of the "Convener, CENTAC" payable at Pondicherry.
