Lateral Entry To B.Tech. Programmes
Diploma holders in engineering / technology gets Lateral Entry in different engineering / technology programmes offered by the University in different institutes. The candidates must have to appear and qualify Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by the University. The Lateral Entry for Diploma holders is allowed in the third semester / 2nd year of different Engineering programmes according to per norms of All India Council for Technological Education (AICTE). Generally, the details of the vacancies are announced before the start of the counselling.
The Cabinet approved the establishment of the Board of Technical Education under Directorate of Technical Education on 2nd July 1987 and the notification regarding constitution of Board of Technical Education was issued on 5th February 1988. Board of Technical Education deals with 17 Diploma Programmes and 2 Diploma Courses and conducts examination for these Programmes and Courses. The Board of Technical Education was formed as an administrative and executive body, to lay down the rules and regulations relating to the academic performance of all Polytechnics and other institutes affiliated to the Board and to various diploma programmes.
