The CET Cell generally comes to know about the exact number of seats, their classification and categories before the commencement of seat selection. Hence, an accurate number of seats to be offered for allotment as Government seats, college wise, category wise and course wise, cannot be made known exactly. The seat matrix (Government seats) in respect of Engineering, Technology and Architecture courses, as notified by the Government are published on the notice boards of the CET Cell and also on the CET website http://kar.nic.in/cet before the commencement of seat selection process. For the benefit of candidates, full postal address and telephone numbers of the Government, University and Private Aided professional colleges and the total intake of seats falling to the share of the Government for the year 2005-06 are given below.

Combined Aptitude Test is conducted every year for the seats reserved under the Management-Quota in the participating educational organizations in the state of Maharashtra. CAT Karnataka 2010 is not for the Maharashtra Government quota or in lieu of Common Entrance Test (CET), Maharashtra. A Combined Aptitude Test (CAT) is conducted for admission to B.Sc (Biotechnology) and M.Sc (Biotechnology) for filling up Management Seats in selected colleges of Karnataka.

The Government of Karnataka is yet to pass any order prescribing the percentage of seats to be filled by the management.
The A.B.Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences, admits students belonging to the following two categories, under the Management seats:
1.Minority
2. NRI/ Foreign nationals
3. General
As of now, the college can admit upto 50% of its total intake under these categories. The college awaits the decision of the Supreme Court of India with regard to the seat sharing ratio between the Management and the Government and also with regard to certain conditions which maybe stipulated for NRI / General category admissions.
Karnataka State Level Common Entrance Test is being conducted for the purpose of admission of students to the 1 year and 1 semester of full time courses in Medical, Dental and Engineering Courses in professional colleges within the State of Karnataka in respect of the seats falling to the share of the State Government. Karnataka CET is conducted and regulated by Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA). Those who want admission in medical/dental courses appear for Physics, Chemistry and Biology exams. The candidates who want admission in B. Arch should have given NATA on whose basis admission to B.Arch is conducted.

Karnataka Religious & Linguistic Minority Professional Colleges Association of Karnataka will conduct the Entrance Exam in May 2010 for admission to the Minority Quota seats in the minority Medical, Dental and Engineering Colleges in Karnataka on the lines of COMEDK and KCET.

Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka -(COMEDK UGET)
The consortium is a unit established by the Karnataka Private Medical / Dental Colleges Association. Only those colleges which are affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences and recognised by the Medical Council of India / Dental Council of India are eligible for the membership of COMEDK. The consortium will conduct the Common Entrance Test on behalf of management who are its members for admission to professional courses.
For admission to BDS course, the candidates are required to appear for the COMEDK UGET being conducted by COMEDK.

More than 13000 seats are available in different engineering disciplines offered at various engineering colleges across the state of West Bengal. 22% seats are reserved for schedule casts (SC) and 6 % seats are reserved for schedule tribes (ST) category candidates. However, 15% seats of all the engineering colleges are filled on the basis of All India Engineering Entrance Examination – AIEEE.

Candidates who have studied or studying their 2nd PUC or 12th standard in educational institutions within Karnataka should get their brochure with application forms by submitting a demand draft of the requisite amount to the Principals of the institutions in which they had studied or studying or appeared for the 2nd PUC or 12th standard examination.
The Principals of all the Schools and Colleges in Karnataka teaching 2nd PUC or 12th standard including CBSE & CISCE syllabi have been requested to collect the filled application forms and forward the same to the CET Cell both from freshers & repeater students.

There are reservation of seats in all the Medical colleges across the state of Uttar Pradesh for different categories viz; schedule caste, schedule tribes, other backward classes etc.

Reservation in seats is available in Delhi College of Engineering (DCE) and Netaji Subhash Institute of Technology (NSIT) New Delhi.
15% seats for Scheduled Castes and 7.5% seats reserved for Scheduled Tribes.
5% seats for Children / Widows of Personnel of Armed / Para Military Forces Killed / disabled (CW) in action during hostilities.
