Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka -(COMEDK UGET)
The consortium is a unit established by the Karnataka Private Medical / Dental Colleges Association. Only those colleges which are affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences and recognised by the Medical Council of India / Dental Council of India are eligible for the membership of COMEDK. The consortium will conduct the Common Entrance Test on behalf of management who are its members for admission to professional courses.
For admission to BDS course, the candidates are required to appear for the COMEDK UGET being conducted by COMEDK.

PGET-Post Graduate entrance Test
PGET (Post Graduate entrance Test) is conducted by COMEDK every year for admission in various post graduate medical course in Karnataka Medical and Dental Colleges.
COMEDK entrance test is mandatory requirement for admissions into the Post Graduate courses of COMEDK Member Institutions.
COMEDK member institutions offers post graduate degree and post graduate diplomas in different disciplines. Post graduate degree is a three year full time and post graduate diploma is a two year part time programme.

Application Procedure
The application form of COMEDK may be obtained from their office on payment of Rs.600/- by Demand Draft drawn in favour of “COMEDK 2005” payable at Bangalore or from the office of the member institutions or from the office of the Nitte Education Trust, Mangalore. The form can also be downloaded from the website www.comedk.org.

Selection and Admission
Based on the merit list prepared by COMEDK, A.B.Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences will call the eligible students who have applied to the Institute, for counselling, which will be held at the College at Deralakatte.
The admission granted is subject to:
1. Fulfilment of the norms / provisions made applicable by the Govt. of
Karnataka / Dental Council of India / Rajiv Gandhi University of
Health Sciences.
2. Payment of prescribed fees.
3. Submission of all certificates and testimonials in original + copies as
required.
Withdrawal of Admission: If a student decides to withdraw voluntarily from the college at any time before completing the course,

Seats Availability
The Government of Karnataka is yet to pass any order prescribing the percentage of seats to be filled by the management.
The A.B.Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences, admits students belonging to the following two categories, under the Management seats:
1.Minority
2. NRI/ Foreign nationals
3. General
As of now, the college can admit upto 50% of its total intake under these categories. The college awaits the decision of the Supreme Court of India with regard to the seat sharing ratio between the Management and the Government and also with regard to certain conditions which maybe stipulated for NRI / General category admissions.

Eligibility Requirements
Eligibility requirements for taking admission into post graduate degree and diploma courses of COMEDK institutions is MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) / BDS (Bachelor of Dental Sciences) from an institute recognised by MCI (Medical Council of India) / DCI (Dental Council of India)
Applicants must meet all the requirements stipulated by MCI / DCI. Accordingly, they should have successfully passed their M.B.B.S. / B.D.S. from an institute recognised by MCI / DCI, and must have completed / completing their internship by April of the year of entrance examination.
Karnataka Management Aptitude Test (K-MAT)
The Karnataka Private Postgraduate Colleges' Association (KPPGCA) conducts the Karnataka Management Aptitude Test (K-MAT) every year to admit students into the management quota MBA seats in 50 self-financing private colleges across the State of Karnataka. The Association is conducting K-MAT Common Entrance Test for facilitating admission into MBA and MCA Programs offered by affiliated colleges of various Universities in Karnataka under management quota. Educational Qualification: For Medical / Dental / Ayurveda / Homoeopathy / Unani / Naturopathy / Yoga courses, have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC / 12th std. or equivalent exam with PHYSICS, CHEMISTRY & BIOLOGY as optional subjects with ENGLISH as one of the languages of study and obtained at least 50% marks in the PCB group. 40% in the case of SC / ST / Category-1 candidates

Common Entrance Test CET-Tamil Nadu is conducted by TNSF-Consortium (Consortium of Self - Financing Professional, Arts and Science Colleges in Tamil Nadu). Every student, selected for admission to the Post Graduate medical / dental course in any of the medical / dental institutions in the country, shall possess recognized M.B.B.S. / B.D.S. degree or equivalent qualification and should have obtained permanent registration with the Medical Council of India / Dental Council of India, or any of the State Medical / Dental Council or should obtain the same with in one month from the date of the admission, failing which the admission of the candidate shall be cancelled.

Dental Postgraduate Courses (MDS)
Dirtectorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER), Mumbai, Maharashtra conducts an entrance examination for admission in various post graduate dental streams offered by Dental Colleges in Maharashtra. The admission is made on the basis of PGDCET conducted by D.M.E.R., Mumbai, Maharashtra.

Fee Structure
Tuition fees (excluding University fees) fixed by the Government of Karnataka for the academic year 2005-06:
For NRI / Foreign nationals - USD 30,000 for the course
For Minority/ General category - INR 2.75 lakhs per annum

10 +2 or PUC passed students writes this examination for the purpose of taking admission into Under Graduate Engineering / Technology / Architecture degree courses in the different engineering colleges / institutions across Karnataka. The admissions to engineering / architecture degree courses are purely made on the basis of CET merit of the candidate.
