Directorate of Medical Education and Research( DMER ) Maharashtra
Directorate of Medical Education and Research controls and supervises the working of 42 institutions viz; Medical and Dental Colleges, Teaching Hospitals and Health Units under its purview to achieve and maintain academic standards.
Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER) Mumbai Maharashtra supervises the Medical Education i.e. Under Graduate , Post Graduate and Super Specialisation. It also co-ordinates the Research activities in Fundamental Research , Applied Research & Operational Research in the Institutions under its control and through Out-reach Services. This enables the Government to improve Health Status of the people in the society.
The Director is the head of the Department and is assisted by The Joint Directors. The Superintendent of Nursing Services is in charge of Nursing Education and works under the Director.
The Director Medical Education and Research is the competent authority for Common Entrance Test for admission to Health Science Courses (MH-CET).
Research is collaborated with national / international organizations and carried out at all institutions as a part of Postgraduate training. Independent research is also carried out by staff members of various disciplines. Research undertaken by staff members is presented in different national and international conferences and published in various journals. Conferences and Academic Workshops are regularly conducted at various institutions. Details of these for reference can be made available by the institute if required.

Government of Maharashtra conducts a single stage Combined Common Entrance Test for selection to all degree courses in Health Sciences, Nursing, Pharmacy, BVSc.& AH and Engineering courses under Govt./ Corporation /Govt. Dirtectorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER), Mumbai, Maharashtra conducts an entrance examination for admission in various post graduate dental streams offered by Dental Colleges in Maharashtra. The admission is made on the basis of PGDCET conducted by D.M.E.R., Mumbai, Maharashtra.
PGM-CET
Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER), Mumbai conducts an entrance examination for admission to MD/MS/Diploma courses. The examination is called PGM-CET and the procedure is called “Procedure for selection and admission to medical postgraduate courses at the State Government Medical Colleges / Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation Medical Colleges / Tata Memorial Hospital and Bombay Hospital, Mumbai”.
Punjab University Common Entrance Test (PUCET)
The Directorate of Medical Education & Research , Punjab governs the medical education and research in Punjab. This directorate was set up in April 1973, to develop medical manpower and to ensure that medical education and teaching hospitals receive adequate attention and proper facilities for research work in the various branches of medicine. This directorate works under the control of the Director, Research and Medical Education, Punjab. The office is at Chandigarh.

In 1823, the French Government established the "Ecole de Medicine de Pondichery". In 13th July 1964, the Government of India renamed it as Jawaharlal Institute of Post-graduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER). The institute is headed by Director as its Chief Executive. The Medical Superintendent of the hospital coordinates the entire gamut of activities related to patient care. The Dean helps Director in coordination of all academic activities of the institute including teaching and research.

i have completed my MBBS from Karnataka, but i m a domicile of Daman & Diu, i completed my 12th in Daman, i also have a house in Mumbai although i have never had any education from Mumbai, can u please tell me if i am eligible for Maharashtra PGM CET??
