Lateral Entry Lateral Entry To B.Tech. Programmes Diploma holders in engineering / technology gets Lateral Entry in different engineering / technology programmes offered by the University in different institutes. The candidates must have to appear and qualify Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by the University. The Lateral Entry for Diploma holders is allowed in the third semester / 2nd year of different Engineering programmes according to per norms of All India Council for Technological Education (AICTE). Generally, the details of the vacancies are announced before the start of the counselling.

Reservation Internal Students- 25 % seats in all the courses are reserved for students who have passed qualifying examination from Jamia and fulfill the minimum requirement for the course and qualify for the prescribed entrance test. 15% seats in all the courses are reserved for schedule castes (SC) category candidates. 7.5 % seats in all the courses are reserved for schedule tribes (ST) category candidates. Candidates belonging to SC / ST category will be given 5 % weightage in the aggregate marks obtained in the qualifying examination. 3% seats in all the courses are reserved for Physically Handicapped (PH) category candidates.

Eligibility Age A candidate must be atleast 17 years of age but not more than 23 years on or before 31st December of the year of examination. Relaxation in age is NOT available for any of the category.
