Application
The test taker must first select a GMAT test center location. Most test centers are in permanent locations and offer the Computer-Adaptive GMAT exam throughout the year. Each test center operates on its own schedule and can accommodate varying numbers of test takers. Test takers choose the most convenient location for them. Once they have decided where to take the test, test takers then need to schedule a GMATexam appointment using one of three methods—online, by phone, or by mail.
Registering by Phone: You may call up Prometric Testing (P) Ltd. Delhi office until 12:00 noon to register. Make sure to call at least THREE BUSINESS DAYS before the test date.
Registering by Fax: If registering by fax, you must send your fax at lest SEVEN DAYS prior to your first choice of a test day.
Registering by Mail/Courier: Fill in the form, get the draft made (if you are not paying by credit card), and submit these to the Prometric Testing (P) Ltd. at New Delhi either by hand or by registered post/courier. You must send the documents at least THREE WEEKS before your choice of a test day.
On receipt of your documents, an appointment will be scheduled for you to test at the Prometric Testing (P) Ltd. Confirmation of the date, time and location of the appointment will be sent to you.

Eligibility
Anyone and everyone is eligible for taking the GMAT - there are no restrictions based on age or qualifications. The test scores are valid for five years, i.e., most universities accept scores up to five years old. But it is always better if your scores are recent (not older than 2 years).

A Bachelor’s degree in any discipline or equivalent, preferably two years of full-time post qualification work experience
A valid GMAT/GRE/CAT* Score. TOEFL score, if you are an overseas student and English is not the primary language of instruction in your country

GRE and GMAT scores of the last five years are valid
CAT* scores obtained since 2002 will be considered

Test Pattern
The Graduate Management Admission Test examination consists of three main parts, the Analytical Writing Assessment, Quantitative section, and Verbal section.
Analytical Writing Assessment
The GMAT exam begins with the Analytical Writing Assessment (AWA). The AWA consists of two separate writing tasks—Analysis of an Issue and Analysis of an Argument. Test takers are allowed 30 minutes to complete each essay.
Quantitative Section
Following an optional five-minute break, the Quantitative section of the GMAT test begins. This section contains 37 multiple-choice questions of two question types—Data Sufficiency and Problem Solving. Test takers are allowed a maximum of 75 minutes to complete the entire section.

For pursuing fellowship programs with IIMs an aspirant should meet the following eligibility conditions:
A Master's Degree holder in any discipline or equivalent qualification, with a minimum of 55% marks.
