Admission

Admission procedure of different programs in IIFT is as explained below:

1. For Certificate Program in Export Management: Selection is made on the basis of Interview.

2. For Executive Masters in International Business: Admission for the “IIFT Executive Masters program in International Business” will be done through a written exam which primarily comprises of Essay Writing followed by Group Discussion and Interviews.

3. For Master of Business Administration – International Business (MBA-IB):
For General / SC / ST / PH Candidates - On the basis of Written Test, Group Discussion, Interview

The Written Test is generally held on fourth Sunday of November every year and is organised at:

Ahmedabad Indore
Bangalore      Jaipur
Bhubaneshwar Jamshedpur
Chandigarh Kochi
Chennai Kolkata
Coimbatore Lucknow
Delhi Mumbai
Dehradun Nagpur
Guwahati Visakhapatnam
Hyderabad  

Based on marks obtained in the Written Test, candidates are called for Group Discussion and Interview to be held between third week of February and mid-March at Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow and Mumbai.

For Foreign / NRI candidates: On the basis of General Management Aptitude Test (GMAT)

4. For Master of Business Administration – International Business (MBA-IB) – (Part-time):

Selection will be on the basis of Essay Writing, Group Discussion and Interviews to be held in IIFT Campus, New Delhi.

5. For PhD Program: Selection of the candidates for PhD programs in IIFT will be done on the following basis:
Eligible candidates are required to appear in the IIFT Research Aptitude Test which will be held at four centres in India: Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata and Mumbai. The IIFT Research Aptitude Test will have two broad sections and may be in the form of objective type questions: Current National and International Economic Issues and Research Methodology. Short-listing will be done on the basis of the merit list after the Aptitude Test.

Candidates so short-listed will be required to submit a detailed Synopsis on the Research Project Proposal as per the guidelines to be issued in this regard, besides a copy of any one of his/her important research paper.

For final selection, Candidates will be invited for Viva/interview at Delhi after taking into account 1 & 2 above.

In the case of Foreign Nationals, GMAT score, synopsis on the Research Project Proposal and Research Paper will be considered for short listing; in such cases also the final selection will be done on the basis of Interview.

IIFT : Application

Application Prospectus and Application form can be obtained by making cash payment of the specified amount in person or sending a demand draft favouring Indian Institute of Foreign Trade payable at New Delhi. Application forms can also be downloaded from IIFT’s website and sent to IIFT with a demand draft of the specified amount.

IIFT : Eligibility

Eligibility For Executive Masters program in International Business Admission for the “IIFT Executive Masters program in International Business” is open to working executives and self-employed / individuals fulfilling the following criteria: Post Graduate Degree / Engineering Degree or equivalent from any recognised University or Institution. Managerial work experience of not less than three years OR Graduation or equivalent degree from any recognised University or Institution. Managerial work experience of not less than five years. ISM : Admission

Admission Applicants who are seeking admission into MBA programs in the Department of Management Studies, Indian School of Mines, shall have to appear for Common Admission Test (CAT) conducted by IIMs. Candidates short-listed on the basis of CAT score are called for Group Discussion and Interview for final selection. A selected candidate who fails to take admission by the last date may loose his/her claim and seat may be offered to the wait-listed candidates. CEMAT : Validity of Admission

Validity of Admission Candidates successfully completing the admission test shall be eligible for admission for the next 2 cycles for which the test scores are valid. After receiving your result card and successfully qualifying the same, you need to fill up the admission form given. Registration for the program shall be valid for 5 years from the date of admission. However, in case the candidate is not able to complete the program within 5 years, he/she will be eligible for re-admission by paying the fee for the balance courses. TAPMI : Admission

Admission Based on the scores in CAT / GMAT candidates will be short-listed for the admission into Management program in TAPMI and invited to participate in the subsequent TAPMI Admissions Process (Group discussion and Personal Interview) to be held at four different cities of the country Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore and Manipal. CAT is used only for short-listing the candidates and it is not the final step of admission procedure in the Institute. IIM has no role in the selection process or conduct of the PGDM program. Final Selection will be based on performance in the TAPMI Admissions Process.
