Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED) Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED) is conducted by Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, on behalf of the Ministry of Human Resources Development (HRD), Department of Education (DAE), Government of India. CEED is the qualifying examination for admission to Post Graduate M.Des. (i.e. Master of Design) programmes at the Industrial Design Centre (IIT Bombay), Inter disciplinary Industrial Design Programme (IIT Delhi), Centre for Product Design and Manufacturing (IISc Bangalore) and Design Programme (IIT Kanpur). However, IIT Kanpur and IISc Bangalore also consider GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) score for admission
Test Pattern Pattern of CEED examination / Structure of CEED Examination CEED examination tests drawing skills, aesthetic sensibility, creativity, problem identification and approach to visual and mechanical design. The examination also tests visualization, creativity, design and general awareness, and comprehension.
Application Form CEED application form cum brochure is issued by Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay (i.e. GATE office, UT Bombay). Aspiring candidates can get application form either in person or by post on submission of requisite amount of application fee. Tentative Schedule The Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED) is generally held in the month of January. The examination is of three hours duration. For exact dates and schedule, please see our Exam Alerts section.
Eligibility Eligibility criteria for admission into different post graduate designing programmes at IITs and IISc.A candidate must have completed 10+2+4 years of study or higher. But different institutes have different criteria for admission, which is given below in brief. Educational qualification For M.Des. in Product Design and Engineering at Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Design or Architecture. Educational qualification for M.Des. in Industrial Design at IDC, lIT Bombay Minimum 55% of marks are required in any of the following areas. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent in any branch Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or equivalent Bachelor’s Degree in Design equivalent to RTech. Interior Design Professional

Lateral Entry Lateral Entry To B.Tech. Programmes Diploma holders in engineering / technology gets Lateral Entry in different engineering / technology programmes offered by the University in different institutes. The candidates must have to appear and qualify Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by the University. The Lateral Entry for Diploma holders is allowed in the third semester / 2nd year of different Engineering programmes according to per norms of All India Council for Technological Education (AICTE).
