Category
Orissa State Candidates (S- Category)
For admission to colleges under state category one has to satisfy at least one of the following three criteria. However, for lateral entry for diploma holders, the parents of the candidate must be permanent resident of Orissa.
The candidate must have passed / appeared in 10+2 Science examination from any of the recognized institution in the State.
Parents of the candidate must be permanent resident of Orissa.
Sons/ daughters / spouse of the permanent employees of Government of Orissa / Govt. of India / Govt. of Orissa undertakings / Govt. of India undertakings serving in the State of Orissa at the time of application.
Reservation
The reservation of seats in different colleges under various categories will be as per the policy of the Government of Orissa.
The percentage of reservation of seats to be reserved for different categories such as Scheduled Tribe and Scheduled Caste (for candidates by birth and not by marriage or adoption), Green Card, Military category, Physically Handicapped, and
Non-resident Oriya (NR) are subject to change and the decision of the State Government as on the date of admission will be applicable.
All reservations shall apply to the permanent residents / native of Orissa state only.
Outside state category (ZZ)
Outside state candidates are not eligible for admission in Government Colleges for any of the course viz; engineering / technology / architecture.
Non resident Oriyas : (NR)
Candidates, applying under this category, should have passed M.E. standard oriya conducted by Board of Revnue, Orissa or equivalent to be in Class-X Board examination of the concerned state (except Orissa). If necessary JEE committee may conduct a test of Oriya for NR candidates as part of the examination during counselling.
