Reservation of Seats
75% / 85% of seats is reserved for Pondicherry residents and remaining from other parts of India. 75 per cent (HSC Academic) / 85 per cent (HSC Vocational) of seats are reserved for Pondicherry residents and remaining 25 per cent / 15 per cent seats are for candidates from other parts of the India.
Reservation Reservation in seats is available in Delhi College of Engineering (DCE) and Netaji Subhash Institute of Technology (NSIT) New Delhi. 15% seats for Scheduled Castes and 7.5% seats reserved for Scheduled Tribes. 5% seats for Children / Widows of Personnel of Armed / Para Military Forces Killed / disabled (CW) in action during hostilities. 3% seats for Physically Handicapped (1% for persons with low vision or blindness, 1% for hearing impaired, 1% for those with loco motor disabilities and / or cerebral palsy.)
Centralised Admission Committee (CENTAC) Pondicherry The admission to the first year MBA program for the Government quota seats in the self-financing Colleges/Institutes in the Union Territory of Pondicherry is centralized and made by the Centralized Admission Committee (CENTAC-MBA) of Government of Pondicherry from the academic year 2005-2006. Reservation Seat reservation is also available for certain reserved categories like schedule cast, schedule tribe, physically handicapped and defence personal. Eligibility Candidates who intend to take CENTAC – MBA entrance test should possess the following Eligibility conditions: Academic Qualifications: Candidates should minimum hold any undergraduate degree and should have secured a minimum of 50% of marks aggregate. However, candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe who have a mere pass in qualifying examination in the above subjects are eligible. Candidates who have passed qualifying examination and who are awaiting result can also apply. However, all candidates will have to produce proof of passing the examination for selection at the time of counseling. Only the Residents of Pondicherry are eligible to apply for admission. Age
No. of Seats / Reservations The accurate number of seats available under various branches of different institutions will be notified on official website of RPETEAP during the time of admission. Except in case of unaided Private Institutions and 50% seats in the self-finance courses of the aided institutions, the reservation of seats will be made subject to the prevalent statutory provisions i.e. as per relevant rules and regulations of Govt. of Rajasthan viz. 16% for SC candidates, 12% for ST candidates and 21% for candidates belonging to OBC category. Reservation Reservation of seats is available for special category candidates, reserved category candidates, candidates belonging to rural area, Kannada medium candidates and for wards of Jammu and Kashmiri migrants. Reservations of the seats There are reservation of seats in all the Medical colleges across the state of Uttar Pradesh for different categories viz; schedule caste, schedule tribes, other backward classes etc. For exact details of No. of seats reserved, etc; please refer to information brochure.
Reservation Internal Students- 25 % seats in all the courses are reserved for students who have passed qualifying examination from Jamia and fulfill the minimum requirement for the course and qualify for the prescribed entrance test. 15% seats in all the courses are reserved for schedule castes (SC) category candidates. 7.5 % seats in all the courses are reserved for schedule tribes (ST) category candidates. Candidates belonging to SC / ST category will be given 5 % weightage in the aggregate marks obtained in the qualifying examination. 3% seats in all the courses are reserved for Physically Handicapped (PH) category candidates.
Reservations of the seats (a) In each college and in each ourse 19% of the total no. of seats shall be reserved for SC, 4% for ST and 14% for OBC category of candidates. (b) In each College and in each Course, horizontal reservation of 2% of total seats in that category, shall be reserved for dependants of freedom fighters, 2% for sons and daughters of defence personnel died or disabled in war, 3% for physically handicapped and 20% for women candidates.
Eligibility Age: 17-21 yrs on 31st December of the year of admission (17-24 yrs in case of SC/ST candidates). Educational Qualification: Candidate must has passed HSC (Academic) exam conducted by the board of Higher Secondary Examination of Tamil Nadu or its equivalent in first attempt securing 50% marks in Biology, Physics and Chemistry. (Improvement marks are not considered). Candidates should be medically fit. Criteria for Domicile (For Pondicherry candidates) 1. 5 yrs stay in Pondicherry. 2. Passed SSLC/HSC and had for that purpose undergone academic studies continuously for 3 successive classes immediately preceding the qualifying exam located in the UT of Pondicherry and having their residence
Application Procedure Application form along with the information bulletin can be obtained from the notified branches of Canara Bank in Pondicherry on cash payment of Rs. 250 (Rs. 50 for SC/ST candidates). Application form can also be obtained by post by sending a self-addressed and stamped (Rs. 15) envelope of size 25*18 cm along with a crossed demand draft of Rs. 250 in favour of the "Convener, CENTAC" payable at Pondicherry. Completed applications should reach the Convener, CENTAC, Pondicherry Engineering College, Pondicherry 605014 by the notified date.
Exam Pattern The test is conducted at Pondicherry and consists of 80 objective type questions in Physics & Chemistry and 10 questions in Biology (Zoology & Botany). The result is notified in leading newspapers and displayed in the College. Merit in JET and marks obtained in the qualifying exam; both of them are given equal weightage. Joint Entrance Test, Pondicherry CENTAC for Engg. Medicine JET, PONDICHERRY JOINT ENTRANCE TEST (JET) is conducted for admission to MBBS/BDS courses in (i) Mahatma Gandhi Dental College and Hospital, Pondicherry; and (ii) Vinayaka Mission Medical College, Karaikal. Separate rules regulate admission to MBBS course in Jawaharlal Institute of Post-Graduate Medical Education and Research, Pondicherry.
Reservation of Seats SC/ST Candidates: 15% and 7.5% seats in each course are reserved for SC and ST category candidates. Candidates belonging to SC/ST categories are admitted on the basis of relaxed criteria (compared to GE / DS category candidates). In case all the reserved seats are not filled, a further relaxation is made in the admission criteria and a limited number of candidates are admitted to a Preparatory Course of one-year duration. This course attempts to prepare the students in Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry. On successful completion of preparatory course, the students are offered direct admission to the undergraduate programmes
