Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility Criteria for Admission to Post Graduate Degree and Diploma Courses of JIPMER (Jawahar Lal Nehru Institute of Post – Graduate Medical Education and research) is given below.
Nationality: An applicant for admission to Postgraduate Degree / Post graduate Diploma courses should be a RESIDENT INDIAN NATIONAL.
Educational Qualification: Candidates should have passed MBBS Degree of any University recognised by the Pondicherry University and the Medical Council of India and should have obtained permanent registration. Those candidates who have completed / will be completing the Internship on or before 31st March, of the year of entrance examination only can apply.

The Question Paper for entrance examination to PG diploma and PG degree (MD/MS) is common to all and consists of one paper of 250 MCQs covering all subjects taught at Under Graduate level.

Reservation
Internal Students- 25 % seats in all the courses are reserved for students who have passed qualifying examination from Jamia and fulfill the minimum requirement for the course and qualify for the prescribed entrance test.
15% seats in all the courses are reserved for schedule castes (SC) category candidates.
7.5 % seats in all the courses are reserved for schedule tribes (ST) category candidates.
Candidates belonging to SC / ST category will be given 5 % weightage in the aggregate marks obtained in the qualifying examination.
3% seats in all the courses are reserved for Physically Handicapped (PH) category candidates.
