Joint Entrance Test, Pondicherry CENTAC for Engg. Medicine

JOINT ENTRANCE TEST (JET) is conducted for admission to MBBS/BDS courses in (i) Mahatma Gandhi Dental College and Hospital, Pondicherry; and (ii) Vinayaka Mission Medical College, Karaikal.
Separate rules regulate admission to MBBS course in Jawaharlal Institute of Post-Graduate Medical Education and Research, Pondicherry.
Centralised Admission Committee (CENTAC) Pondicherry The admission to the first year MBA program for the Government quota seats in the self-financing Colleges/Institutes in the Union Territory of Pondicherry is centralized and made by the Centralized Admission Committee (CENTAC-MBA) of Government of Pondicherry from the academic year 2005-2006. Application Application forms and Information Brochure can be obtained from CENTAC - MBA office, Pondicherry Engineering College, Pondicherry 605 014., in person on all working days on payment of Rs.500/- (Rs. 300/- for SC/ST Candidates) or application forms can be downloaded from the web site and submitted along with crossed Demand Draft for the same amount drawn in favour of “The Convenor, CENTAC-MBA" payable at Pondicherry. Application Procedure Application form along with the information bulletin can be obtained from the notified branches of Canara Bank in Pondicherry on cash payment of Rs. 250 (Rs. 50 for SC/ST candidates). Application form can also be obtained by post by sending a self-addressed and stamped (Rs. 15) envelope of size 25*18 cm along with a crossed demand draft of Rs. 250 in favour of the "Convener, CENTAC" payable at Pondicherry. Exam Pattern The test is conducted at Pondicherry and consists of 80 objective type questions in Physics & Chemistry and 10 questions in Biology (Zoology & Botany). The result is notified in leading newspapers and displayed in the College. Merit in JET and marks obtained in the qualifying exam; both of them are given equal weightage. Eligibility Candidates who intend to take CENTAC – MBA entrance test should possess the following Eligibility conditions: Academic Qualifications: Candidates should minimum hold any undergraduate degree and should have secured a minimum of 50% of marks aggregate. However, candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe who have a mere pass in qualifying examination in the above subjects are eligible. Candidates who have passed qualifying examination and who are awaiting result can also apply.
