NIT MCA Common Entrance Test-NIMCET
The NIMCET is a National Level Entrance Test conducted by National Institute of Technologies - NITs for admission to Master of Computer Application - MCA course offered at different NITs. The duration of course is 6 semesters / 3 years. The first common admission test NIMCET-05 was conducted in 2005. About 13,000 candidates appeared for NIMCET-05 for 420 seats available in NITs. The admission to MCA program for the year 2006 -07 in all the NITs will be made on the basis of merit rank obtained by a prospective candidate in NIMCET-2006 Entrance Test.

Pattern of Examination
The NIT MCA Common Entrance Test – NIMCET for admission to MCA courses at different NITs consists of 120 objective type questions. The duration of test is 2 ½ hours. Each correctly marked answer carries 4 marks and each wrongly marked answer attracts penalty of -1 mark. The final merit list of candidates for counseling and admission to MCA program is prepared on the basis of Common Entrance Test. The test is held in the following four subjects-
Mathematics – 40 Questions
Analytical Ability and Logical Reasoning – 60 Questions
Computer Awareness - 10 Questions
General English – 10 Questions
Eligibility
Candidates with an aggregate (all subjects put together) of 60% marks ( 6.5/10 CGPA) in Bachelor's degree of minimum duration of 3 years from a recognized University in any discipline, with Mathematics as one of the subjects both in graduation and at 10+2 level are eligible. Those candidates who are appearing for the qualifying examinations in 2006 are also eligible to appear for the test. Admission Methodology, Application Form and Application Fee
NIMCET application is a comprehensive application form for the Entrance Examination and for admission to MCA at any of the NITs offering MCA programme. Candidates need not apply to each NITs separately for admission. The admission to MCA programme in all the 9 participating NITs will be through a single window centralized counselling at NIT Warangal in JUNE /JULY . All disputes pertaining to the conduct of NIMCET-06 shall fall within the jurisdiction of Calicut / Kerala only.
Pattern of Entrance Examination
Common Entrance Test: All candidates willing to take admission in any of the medical stream of AIMS including NRIs/PIOs have to appear for the Common Entrance Test, conducted by the Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham for admission. The Test is common for MBBS/BDS/BSc Nursing.
The Common Entrance Test comprises of an objective type test of 180 minutes duration, containing 200 questions. Approximate distribution of questions for subjects will be English and General Knowledge - 20, Physics - 40; Chemistry - 60; and Biology - 80.
Gujarat Common Entrance Test (G-CET)
The Gujarat Common Entrance Test - GCET is the common admission test conducted for admission to all the Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Computer Application (MCA) courses offered in the various Institutes / Colleges run in the state of Gujarat except the IIM, Ahmedabad.

Common Entrance Test (CET) Guru Govind Singh Indraprastha University
Common Entrance Test (CET) is conducted by Guru Govind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU). The entrance examination is held for the purpose of admission into different engineering, technological and scientific disciplines at bachelors’ degree level programmes leading to Bachelor of technology (B.Tech.). Combined Aptitude Test, Maharashtra
Combined Aptitude Test is a Common Entrance test for admission into the courses MBBS, BDS, BE, B.Arch, MCA, MBA that are offered in the Colleges / Institutes / University Departments located in the state of Maharashtra. Combined Aptitude Test is conducted every year for the seats reserved under the Management-Quota in the participating educational organizations in the state of Maharashtra. It is not for the Maharashtra Government quota or in lieu of Common Entrance Test (CET), Maharashtra.

Health Science Courses
Government of Maharashtra conducts a single stage Combined Common Entrance Test for selection to all degree courses in Health Sciences, Nursing, Pharmacy, BVSc.& AH and Engineering courses under Govt./ Corporation /Govt. Aided Colleges and Govt. Quota in Private colleges. The entrance test is called Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT-CET).
The Competent Authority for the conduct of MHT-CET (Maharashtra Combined Common Entrance Test) examination is Director, Medical Education and Research (DMER), Mumbai, Maharashtra.
However, for the selection process there are two separate Competent Authorities. Director, Medical Education and Research (DMER), Mumbai is the Competent Authority for selection to Health Science courses.
