M.Tech (Full Time)

M. Tech. in Electrical Power System Management

Jamia Millia Islamia – Faculty of Engineering & Technology offers Post Graduate Program in Electrical Power System Management. Admission to this program is made on the basis of entrance examination. After successful completion of program, M.Tech. degree is awarded. Candidates after earning this degree can either opt for research work or choose to work with different government / private agencies.

M.Tech (Part Time)

M. Tech. in Environmental Science and Engineering

Faculty of Engineering and Technology – Jamia Millia Islamia offers part time post graduate program in Environmental Science and Engineering. The duration of the course is three years i.e. 6 semesters. The in service engineers and scientists duly sponsored by their employer can join this course. Classes are held in morning session between 7:50 AM to 9:30 AM on all working days and 7:50AM to 11:00 AM on weekends.

The total numbers of seats in this program are 12

B.Tech (Full Time)

Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) program offered at Faculty of Engineering & Technology - Jamia Millia Islimia is a 4 years (8 semesters) degree program. At the end of the program B. Tech. degree is awarded, which is recognized by all the government and private agencies. Candidates after completion of degree can choose for higher studies or can choose to work with different government / private organizations.

B. Tech. Degree programs offered by Jamia Millia Islamia at Faculty of Engineering & Technology are :-

B. E. (Evening)

Jamia Millia Islamia – Faculty of Engineering and Technology offers B.E. evening program in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics & Communication and Computer Engineering (60 seats in each) for working professionals. The classes are held between 6.00 PM to 9.00 PM on all working days. The practical classes are held on Sundays during daytime.

B. E.(Evening) Degree programs offered by Jamia Millia Islamia at Faculty of Engineering & Technology are :-

Diploma in Engineering (Regular)

Jamia Polytechnic of Jamia Millia Islamia University offers a three year program in different engineering disciplines. The admission to these programs is made on the basis of entrance test. After successful completion of any such engineering course, a Diploma in Engineering is awarded.

Diploma Engineering courses are given below-

2. Mechanical Engineering
3. Electrical Engineering
4. Electronics Engineering
5. Computer Engineering

Diploma in Engineering (Evening)

Jamia Millia Islamia – Faculty of Engineering & Technology offers Diploma In Engineering Evening / Part Time Program leading to award of Diploma in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics & Communication and Computer Engineering. The classes are held between 6.00 PM to 9.00 PM on all working days. Practical classes are held during daytime on Sundays. The number of seats is 40 in each engineering discipline.

Diploma Engineering courses are given below-

3. Electrical Engineering
4. Electronics & Communication Engineering
5. Computer Engineering

Reservation

Internal Students- 25 % seats in all the courses are reserved for students who have passed qualifying examination from Jamia and fulfill the minimum requirement for the course and qualify for the prescribed entrance test.

15% seats in all the courses are reserved for schedule castes (SC) category candidates.

7.5 % seats in all the courses are reserved for schedule tribes (ST) category candidates.

Candidates belonging to SC / ST category will be given 5 % weightage in the aggregate marks obtained in the qualifying examination.

3% seats in all the courses are reserved for Physically Handicapped (PH) category candidates.

Admission Procedure for Foreign Students / NRIs

Visa Requirements - Only those candidates are eligible who enters the country on Student Visa / Entry Visa or Diplomatic Visa.

Applicants applying for any particular course must have to fulfill the eligibility criteria for the said course as prescribed by the Jamia Millia Islamia University Department.

15% seats in all the courses may be classified as supernumerary seats, which matter to approval by academic council of Jamia Millia Islamia from time to time. Out of these 15 % seats, 10 % seats are reserved for foreign nationals.

Candidates seeking admission in any of the course under NRI category must have to fulfill the criteria for being NRI defined by Government of India.

Tentative Dates

1. All dates of admission schedule are subject to change if needed.
2. Application Form for admission to Part-time MBA, B.E. and Diploma Engineering courses will be made available after 16.08.2006 till the date of acceptance as mentioned above.
3. Candidates are advised to personally check the interview / admission lists on the notice boards of Faculty of Engineering & Technology and Jamia Polytechnic (for Diploma Engineering courses) on the above mentioned dates. No correspondence will be made in this respect. The result will also be available on the Jamia website.
