Lateral Entry

Lateral Entry To B.Tech. Programmes

Diploma holders in engineering / technology gets Lateral Entry in different engineering / technology programmes offered by the University in different institutes. The candidates must have to appear and qualify Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by the University. The Lateral Entry for Diploma holders is allowed in the third semester / 2nd year of different Engineering programmes according to per norms of All India Council for Technological Education (AICTE). Generally, the details of the vacancies are announced before the start of the counselling.

Reservation

Seat reservation is also available for certain reserved categories like schedule cast, schedule tribe, physically handicapped and defence personal.

Supernumerary seats for Kashmiri migrants are also available.

Notification

ADMISSION ANNOUNCEMENT (2006-07)

The University is running 50 programmes in its Schools of Studies and more than 80 affiliated Colleges imparting professional education to more than 35,000 students. Two Admission Brochures for admission to various programmes through Common Entrance Tests (CET) are being released:

Admission Brochure - I (Non - Engineering Professional Programmes)

Note -.-Centres lor CET (Engg. programmes) will be in Delhi, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Jaipur, Kolkata, Kanpur & Mumbai. ** No entrance test. The admissions to these programmes will be made on the basis of valid GATE score/marks and experience, wherever applicable.

For MBBS at Vardhman Mahavir Medical College, Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi, CET will be held on 04.06.2006. University will publish a separate Notification and Brochure by end of March.

Purchase of Application Form through Post.
The Application Form along with the Brochure can also be obtained through registered/speed post by sending a request to Deputy Registrar (Academic-I), Room No.108, Administrative Block, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Kashmere Gate, Delhi-110006 along with a Demand Draft/Pay Order of Rs. 800/- in favour of Registrar, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, payable at Delhi and a self addressed envelope of size not less than 24cms x 30cms. Such request must reach University on/before 31st March, 2006 positively. The envelope of the application requesting for the issuance of Admission Form/Brochure must be super-scribed at the left-top corner as “REQUEST FOR ADMISSION FORM/BROCHURE – I/II “as the case may be”.

National Talent Scholarship

National Talent Scholarship of Rs. 1000/- per month is awarded to all those candidates who takes admission in any of the 41 in institutions on the basis ICAR’s All
India Competitive Examination. The purpose of award of scholarship is the promotion of agricultural education in the country.

Eligibility

Age

A candidate must be atleast 17 years of age but not more than 23 years on or before 31st December of the year of examination.

Relaxation in age is NOT available for any of the category.

Educational Qualification

The candidate must have passed and obtained not less than 50% (for General and UPS Categories) and 40% marks (for SC, ST, and PH categories) in 10+2 examination. Any candidate having compartment/ supplementary in any subject in the qualifying examination i.e. 10+2 is not eligible for admission. One who is appearing for 10+2 examination in the year of examination can also apply subject to his/ her producing 10+2 passing certificate on the date of Counseling. Pass in English in 10+2 examination is essential for admission in some of the Universities.
