Scheme / Pattern of All India Competitive Examination

All India Competitive Examination (AICE) of ICAR consists of only one question paper consisting Objective type questions. The question paper is bilingual i.e. English and Hindi.

For stream A, the subjects composition is Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Agriculture.

For stream B, the subjects combination is Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

A candidate can choose any of the stream depending upon his / her subject of choice and eligibility.

11th All India Competitive Examination for Admissions to Under Graduate Programmes and award of National Talent Scholarship in Agriculture and Allied Science Subjects other than Veterinary Sciences for the Academic Session 2006 - 2007

Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi will conduct 11th All India Competitive Examination for filling up 15% of the total number of seats in 41 Agricultural Universities in 10 subjects of Under Graduate degree Programmes including Agriculture, Horticulture, Fisheries Science, Forestry, Home Science, Sericulture, Agricultural Engineering, Dairy Technology, Food Science & Technology and Agriculture Marketing Banking & Co-operation, and 100% of the seats at National Dairy Research Institute, Karnal (Haryana) in Dairy Technology. There will be no direct nomination of any candidate for admission in any Under Graduate degree programme.

Date and time of the Examination : 7th May, 2006 (Sunday) from 10.00 A.M. to 12.30 P.M.

National Talent Scholarship : To promote agricultural education in the country, National Talent Scholarship @ Rs. 1,000/- per month shall be awarded to all the finally admitted candidates who join any University which is not within the domicile state of the candidate.

Scheme of Examination : There will be only one question paper consisting of objective type questions in Physics, Chemistry and Biology / Agriculture for STREAM - A and Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics for STREAM – B. The candidates may choose any Stream according to their eligibility and choice of the subjects. The question paper will be bilingual i.e. ENGLISH and HINDI.

Reservation of Seats : There would be reservation of seats for admissions in all the subjects to the extent 15% for Scheduled Castes, 7.5% for Scheduled Tribes, 3% for Physically Handicapped candidates, and 2% for candidates from Underprivileged states (UPS) as defined in the Information Bulletin.

Eligibility : The candidate must be atleast 17 years of age but not more than 23 years on or before 31. 12. 2006. No relaxation of age will be allowed to candidate of any category. He/ she should be an Indian National. He/ she must have passed and obtained not less than 50% (for General and UPS Categories) and 40% marks (for SC, ST, and PH categories) in 10+2 examination. Any candidate having compartment/ supplementary in any subject in the qualifying examination i.e. 10+2 is not eligible for admission. One who is appearing for 10+2 examination in the year 2006 can also apply subject to his/ her producing 10+2 passing certificate on the date of Counseling. Pass in English in 10+2 examination is essential for admission in some of the Universities.

For this, a demand draft of Rs. 450/- (Rs. 400/- as form fee + Rs. 50/- towards postal and handling charges) for General and UPS Categories and Rs. 250/- (Rs. 200/- + Rs. 50/- towards postal and handling charges) for S.C., S.T., and P.H. categories drawn in favour of Deputy Director General (Education), ICAR payable at New Delhi with a self addressed envelope (size 12” x 10”) without postage should be sent. The candidate should write his/ her name and address on the back of the demand draft. No request for supply of Information Bulletin by post will be entertained after 14th March, 2006.

The Information Bulletin with Application Forms can also be obtained personally up to 4.00 P.M. on 17th March, 2006 (except holidays) by depositing demand draft without postage and handling charges from the Office of the Controller of Examinations (Education Division), ICAR, Room No. 226, K.A.B.-II, Pusa, New Delhi – 110 012.

The last date for the receipt of application forms in the office of Controller of Examination (Education Division), Room No. 226, Indian Council of Agricultural Research, Krishi Anusandhan Bhavan-II, Pusa, New Delhi – 110 012 is 22nd March, 2006. However for the candidates belonging to the remote areas viz. Mizoram, Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Ladakh Division of J&K State, Lahaul & Spilit District and Pangi Sub-Division of Chamba District of Himachal Pradesh, Andaman & Nicobar Island and Lakshadweep the last date of receipt of application form is 28th March, 2006. Application Forms received after the last date will be rejected. Education Division shall not be responsible for non-receipt of application within the time schedule due to postal delay or any other reason for delay. For details, ICAR website “www.icar.org.in” can also be referred. However, the Application Forms (OMR) can not be downloaded and submitted on-line. All disputes relating to the conduct of this examination or any matter connected with this advertisement shall be dealt in the jurisdiction of DELHI COURT only.

EAMCET : Notification

1. Entrance Test :

1.1 A Common Entrance Test, Designated as Engineering, Agricultural and Medical Common Entrance Test – 2006 (EAMCET – 2006) of Andhra Pradesh will be conducted (as per G.O.Ms.No. 16 Edn.,(EC) Department Dt: 25-2-2004 and its amendments) by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad – 72 for entry into the first year of the following professional courses offered for the academic year 2006-2007 in the State of Andhra Pradesh.

(a) B.E/B.Tech courses
(b) B.V.Sc and A.H/B.Sc (Ag)/B.Sc (Hort)/B.F.Sc/B.Tech (FST)/B.Sc (CA&BM) courses
(c) MBBS/BDS/BAMS/BHMS/BNYS courses
(d) B. Pharm courses.

2. Eligibility:

2.1 The minimum qualification to appear for EAMCET-2006 is
(a) A pass in Intermediate Examination or appearance at 2nd year Intermediate Examination (10 + 2 pattern) conducted by the A.P. Board of Intermediate Education, with appropriate optional subjects or its equivalent thereto.
(b) A pass at Diploma examination or appearance at 3rd year Diploma Examination in Engineering conducted by the State Board of Technical Education and Training, A.P. or its equivalent thereto. Diploma candidates are eligible to apply for B.E/B.Tech courses only.

2.2 2.2 In case of such students who appear for the entrance Test, pending result of their qualifying examination, their entry shall be subject to their securing a pass in the said qualifying examination.

2.3 2.3 Candidates should belong to the State of Andhra Pradesh as defined in the A.P. Educational Institutions (regulations for admission) order 1974 and its amendments (vide G.O.P.No. 646 dt: 10-7-79 of Education (W) Department).

3. Detailed information regarding eligibility, age, and syllabi etc., is given in the “Instruction Booklet”, supplied along with the application form.

4.Requisition for the Application form :

4.1 Candidates with Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry as optional subjects in their Intermediate or its equivalent course should submit ” E” category application for Engineering (B.E/B.Tech/B.Tech (Ag.Engg) /B.Tech (Dairying)/ B.Tech (FST) (MPC) /B.Sc (CA&BM) (MPC) and B. Pharm (MPC) courses.

4.2 Candidates with Biology, Physics and Chemistry as optional subjects in their Intermediate or its equivalent course should submit ” AM” category application for Agriculture (B.V.Sc., and A.H/B.Sc (Agr)/B.Sc (Hort)/B.F.Sc/B.Tech (FST) (Bi.P.C)/B.Sc (CA&BM) (Bi.P.C)/ Medical (MBBS/BDS/BAMS/BHMS/ BNYS) and B. Pharm (Bi.P.C) courses

4.3 Eligible candidates who intend to seek admission to both the courses in 4.1 and 4.2 have to submit ” E” and ” AM” category applications in a single cover only, so that the same test center can be allotted for both the tests.

4.4 Applications form together with the enclosures including the “Instruction Booklet” can be had in person (not by post) on payment of Rs. 250/- (this amount covers the cost of application along with enclosures, fees for entrance test, and towards Service charges for Post offices) in cash AT ALL THE HEAD POST OFFICES AND ALL e-SEVA CENTRES within the state of Andhra Pradesh..

5. How to submit Filled in Application form:
Refer to item VIII of “Instruction Booklet” for Engineering (E) and Agriculture and Medicine (AM) Categories of applications.

10. Filled in Application should be submitted to the Regional Coordinator in person as mentioned in the Instruction Booklet or to the Convener, EAMCET - 2006, SIT Building, Cellar portion, Kukatpally, Hyderabad - 500 072 by Regd. Post.

11. In their own interest, candidates are advised to submit the filled in applications to the concerned regional co-ordinators in person only, or to send it to the convener, eamcet - 2006, j.n.t.u., kukatpally, hyderabad - 500 072 by regd post , well in advance of the last date prescribed for submission of applications without late fee to avoid delays. Convener shall not be responsible for any postal delay or loss of application during transit.

The duration of each paper is 2 hours.

Examination Papers for B. Pharm. Courses

Candidates who have applied for the Engineering Entrance Examination and who wish to be considered for admission to B.Pharm. course only in addition to the Engineering Courses should attend ‘Paper I Chemistry & Physics’ of the Medical Entrance Examination, in addition to the Engineering Entrance Examination.

Such candidates need not to appear for Paper II-Biology of the Medical Entrance Examination and they will not be considered for admission to any other Medical / Agricultural courses.

Examination Papers for Agricultural Courses

Candidates desirous of obtaining admission to the Agricultural courses, except B.Tech. (Ag.Engg), BSc.(DSc & Tech), will have to write Paper I-Chemistry & Physics and Paper II-Biology of Medical Entrance Examination. For being considered for B.Tech (Ag. Engg.) and B.Tech. (D.Sc. & Tech.) they have to appear for Paper I-Physics & Chemistry and Paper II-Mathematics of Engineering Entrance Examination.

Candidates desirous of being considered for admission to the Architecture Course will have to appear for both papers of the Aptitude test in Architecture and become eligible for inclusion in the rank list for admission to Architecture course.

Examination Papers for Engineering Courses

Candidates who wish to be considered ONLY for Engineering courses [including B.Tech (Ag. Engg.) and B.Tech (D.Sc. & Tech.) under the Kerala Agricultural University], will have to write Paper I-Physics & Chemistry and Paper-II Mathematics of the Engineering Entrance Examination.

Candidates included in the Engineering rank list will not be considered for admission to B.Arch. course based on their Engineering rank.

CET- Karnataka : Eligibility

Eligibility

Candidates who satisfy one of the following Clauses / Eligibility Criteria / Conditions laid down under Admission Rules, will ONLY QUALIFY for admission to Government seats.

Each condition is specified as a clause and is individually referred by a code. The candidates who do not satisfy any of the Clauses / Eligibility Criteria / Conditions detailed below, will not be eligible for admission to professional courses under Government seats. Therefore, such candidates need not apply. The Eligibility clauses and respective codes are as follows:

a The candidate should have studied and passed in one or more Government or Government recognized educational institutions located in the State of Karnataka for a minimum period of SEVEN academic years commencing from I standard to 2nd PUC / 12th standard as on 1st July of the year in which the Entrance Test is held and must have appeared and passed either SSLC / 10th standard or 2nd PUC / 12th standard examination from Karnataka State. In case of the candidate who had taken more than one year to pass a class or standard, the years of academic study is counted as one year only.
b The candidate should have studied and passed both I and II year Pre-University Examination or 11th & 12th standard examination within the State of Karnataka from an Educational Institution run or recognized by the State Government and that either of the parents should have studied in Karnataka for a minimum period of SEVEN years, which should be evident from the certificates issued by the concerned institutions.
c In the case of candidates whose mother tongue is Kannada, Tulu or Kodava and who are residing outside the State of Karnataka as on 1st July of the year of examination, such candidates should have passed the qualifying examination from an University or Board or any other Institution located outside Karnataka ; provided also that the candidate shall undergo a Kannada language test, which will be conducted by the CET Cell to establish the candidates’ ability to speak, read and write Kannada.
d A candidate whose mother tongue is Kannada, Tulu or Kodava and who resides in disputed Kannada speaking area of South Sholapur or Akkalkot or Jath or Gadhinglaj Taluks of Maharashtra State or Kasargod Taluk of Kerala State. The candidate shall undergo a Kannada language test, which will be conducted by the CET Cell to establish his ability to speak, read and write Kannada.
e In the case of a candidate who is son or daughter of Defence personnel who has worked continuously in Karnataka for a minimum period of one year i.e. between 1st July of the previous yearto 30th June of the year of examination. The candidate should have studied and passed the qualifying examination from any Government or Government recognised educational institution located in Karnataka.
f Son or daughter of serving Defence personnel who at the time of joining the Defence service had declared his / her hometown a place in the State of Karnataka. Proof of such domicile should be obtained and produced by obtaining the extract from the Record Office of the Defence unit.
g In the case of a candidate who is a son or daughter of a Defence personnel who had served in Karnataka for at least one year and is posted on duty in Field / Active Service and whose family is permitted by Defence Authorities to continue to stay in Karnataka. Such candidate should have studied and passed the qualifying examination from any Government or Government recognised educational institution located in Karnataka.
h Son or daughter of an ex-servicemen who at the time of joining the Defence service had declared a place in Karnataka as his home town, proof of such domicile should be obtained and produced from the “Deputy Director, Department of Sainik Welfare and Resettlement”.
i In the case of a candidate being a son or daughter of an employee of the Union Government or an employee of the Union or Karnataka State Government Undertaking or Joint Sector Undertaking, who is liable to be transferred anywhere in India as per the terms and conditions of his employment and has worked in Karnataka for a minimum period of one year and such candidate has studied and passed the qualifying examination from any Government or Government recognised educational institution located in Karnataka.
j Son or daughter of a working or retired employee of the Union Government or employee of Union or Karnataka State Government undertaking or Joint Sector undertaking where such employee; (a) had declared to the employer at the time of joining service any place in Karnataka to be his home town; and (b) had studied in any Government or Government recognised educational institution or institutions located in Karnataka for a minimum period of seven years; and (c) was or is liable to be transferred anywhere in India as per the terms and conditions of his employment.
k Son or daughter of Members of Parliament elected from Karnataka.
l Son or daughter of serving or retired employee :(a) belonging to All India Service of Karnataka cadre; and (b) of the Karnataka State Government, who has served or is serving outside the State of Karnataka during the period corresponding to Candidate’s study outside the State from 1st standard to 2nd PUC or 12th standard examination can be added to make up the seven years study within Karnataka as required under clause (a) above.
m Son or daughter of Jammu & Kashmiri migrants, proof of such migration (IDENTITY CARD) should be obtained and produced from the jurisdictional “District Magistrate and Deputy Commissioner” of any state in India.

Note : In case, if any of the documents produced in respect of the Clause claimed by the candidate is found to be false / incorrect, the seat selected by the candidate will be cancelled at any stage and the entire fee amount paid by such candidate will be forfeited.

Educational Qualification

A candidate who has passed the Qualifying Examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry / Bio-Technology / Computer Science / Biology / Electronics as optional subjects with English as one of the languages of study and obtained an aggregate minimum of 45% marks in the optional subjects in the qualifying examination is eligible for Engineering and Technology courses. (40% of marks in Qualifying Examination in case of SC, ST & OBC Category candidates.) Provided that, the marks obtained by candidate in Bio-Technology / Computer Science / Biology / Electronics in the qualifying examination, will be considered in place of Chemistry for the purpose of determination of eligibility in respect of Engineering and Technology courses.

A candidate who has passed the qualifying examination with Mathematics as one of the optional subjects and English as one of the languages of study along with other subjects and obtained at least 50% marks in aggregate in all subjects, is eligible for Architecture course. Provided that all the candidates, including the SC, ST & OBC Category candidates, who are interested in admission to Architecture course, should appear for both PART –1 & PART – 2 of the Aptitude Test compulsorily and obtain an aggregate minimum of 40% marks in both PART –1 & PART – 2. Marks obtained by the candidates in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects in the Common Entrance Test will not be taken into account for determining the merit / rank, for admission to Architecture course
