Introduction -

Management programs offered by Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) are becoming increasingly popular among the Indian student community. IGNOU started its management program in 1987 through its School of Management Studies. Now the school offers nine programs. More than 50 courses are included in the curriculum. It conducts OPENOPENMAT examination twice a year for admission into different management programs offered by the University.

Management Aptitude Test (MAT)

Management Aptitude Test (MAT)

Management Aptitude Test –MAT is a popular national entrance test among the management aspirants. This test is conducted by the Centre for Management Services (CMS) of All India Management Association (AIMA). Institutes offering PG program in management and allied subjects generally participate in this exam. All management institutes that participate in MAT are either AICTE (All Indian Council for Technical Education) approved or affiliated to universities. This exam has the unique distinction of being the first to be awarded with ISO 9001: 2000 Certification.

Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT)

The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) was set up in 1963 by the Government of India as an autonomous organisation that helps professionalize the country’s foreign trade management and increase exports by developing human resources; generating, analysing and disseminating data; and conducting research.

Over the years, IIFT has undertaken path-breaking research studies with renowned organisations like WTO (World Trade Organisation), World Bank, UNCTAD (United Nations Conference on Trade and Development) and the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India.

Introduction -

Joint Management Entrance Test (JMET) is the first step in the process of seeking admission to the 2-Year full time Post-Graduate Degree Programs in Management offered by the IITs & IISc. Currently IISc Bangalore, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras and IIT Roorkee are offering such Programs in Management. The IITs and IISc use the results of JMET to short-list the candidates for subsequent part of the selection process.

XAT, abbreviated for Xavier Admission Test is one of the most popular tests among the MBA aspirants all over India. For more than 50 years Xavier Labour Research Institute, Jamshedpur (XLRI) is conducting this National level Admission Test to select the most appropriate students for its management eduXATion. XAT, the entrance exam to XLRI is also the entrance test to be taken for aspirants seeking admission to many other reputed B-Schools in the country such as XIMB (Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar), LIBA (Loyola Institute of Business Administration, Chennai), BIM (Bharathidasan Institute of Management, Trichy). There are 42 other Management Institutes who are selecting students from XAT.
