Additional Information
Candidates from outside Tamil Nadu : As per University stipulations, the candidates from outside Tamil Nadu should apply to the university for registration in the prescribed form, within a period of 15 days from the date of their admission.
Admission Counseling Desk
During the month of admission, an admission counselling desk will operate from Monday through Saturday at the registered office of the University. The purpose of this arrangement is to disseminate information to the students and parents on admission procedures and on the choice of branch of study.
Details of application, the admission criteria, written tests etc. will be discussed with students in order to clarify their doubts, if any. An admission council will counsel students not only on admission procedures, but also on the choice of their course of study that would suit them in accordance to their qualifications, merit and aptitude.
This process would help the students and their parents to make appropriate decisions on the career of the students.

Prospects and Application Forms for All India Common Entrance Examination may be obtained from the Registrar by Post by sending a requisition letter along with a Demand Draft for Rs.675/- (Rupees six hundred and seventy five only) drawn in favour of "Registrar, Sri Ramachandra Medical college and Research Institute (Deemed University), Chennai - 116. Or in person by paying Rs.600/- (Rupees six hundred only) at the university office.

Selection is based on merit in competitive entrance exam in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English. For qualifying the test 50% marks are required (25% in case of SC/ST, 35% for sports, children/grand children of political sufferers, handicapped, 1984 riot affected).
Management Aptitude Test (MAT)
Management Aptitude Test –MAT is a popular national entrance test among the management aspirants. This test is conducted by the Centre for Management Services (CMS) of All India Management Association (AIMA). Institutes offering PG program in management and allied subjects generally participate in this exam. All management institutes that participate in MAT are either AICTE (All Indian Council for Technical Education) approved or affiliated to universities. This exam has the unique distinction of being the first to be awarded with ISO 9001: 2000 Certification.

The IMS-BHU, Varanasi conducts All India Entrance Examination for admission to different under graduate and post graduate courses. Admissions are done according to merit in the Entrance Tests, subject to fulfilling of eligibility requirements.

Examination Centres
Assignment Of Exam Centres
Candidates who have studied the qualifying examination within Karnataka should write Common Entrance Test (CET) in a test centre within the district in which the candidate studied 2nd PUC or 12th standard. If the CET test centres are located in more than one place in a district, the candidate can choose one of the places. If there is more than one test centre in a place, then the decision to assign the test centre will rest with the CET Cell and the CET Cell decides on random basis the test centre of a candidate.

Exam Pattern
The test is conducted at Pondicherry and consists of 80 objective type questions in Physics & Chemistry and 10 questions in Biology (Zoology & Botany). The result is notified in leading newspapers and displayed in the College.
Merit in JET and marks obtained in the qualifying exam; both of them are given equal weightage.

Joint Entrance Exam Test - JMET
Introduction -
Joint Management Entrance Test (JMET) is the first step in the process of seeking admission to the 2-Year full time Post-Graduate Degree Programs in Management offered by the IITs & IISc. Currently IISc Bangalore, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras and IIT Roorkee are offering such Programs in Management. The IITs and IISc use the results of JMET to short-list the candidates for subsequent part of the selection process.
