Counselling
Based on the UP-SEE test score/merit/ranks, the centralized counselling is conducted on-line through Internet in two phases.
In Phase-I, which will be off-campus on-line, the candidates can exercise their choices at place of their convenience to know about indicative choice allotment at frequent intervals.
Phase-II will be on-campus on-line, where eligible candidates will be required to report at pre-specified counselling centres for registration and final choice submission. The counselling is conducted at different counselling centres and also be available on the website.

Question Papers for IIT-JEE:The examination consists of three separate papers in Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry, each of two hours duration. The questions in these papers are objective type, which are to be answered on the specially designed machine-gradable sheet using HB pencils only. There is negative marking for Incorrect answers
Language of Question Papers for IIT-JEE: A candidate can opt for Question Papers either in English or in Hindi.
Use of calculators and log tables is NOT permitted in IIT-JEE.
Aptitude Test for B. Arch. and B. Des. Courses: The candidates called for counselling and desirous of joining the B. Arch.
Reservation of Seats
SC/ST Candidates: 15% and 7.5% seats in each course are reserved for SC and ST category candidates. Candidates belonging to SC/ST categories are admitted on the basis of relaxed criteria (compared to GE / DS category candidates). In case all the reserved seats are not filled, a further relaxation is made in the admission criteria and a limited number of candidates are admitted to a Preparatory Course of one-year duration. This course attempts to prepare the students in Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry. On successful completion of preparatory course, the students are offered direct admission to the undergraduate programmes

Lateral Entry
Lateral Entry To B.Tech. Programmes
Diploma holders in engineering / technology gets Lateral Entry in different engineering / technology programmes offered by the University in different institutes. The candidates must have to appear and qualify Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by the University. The Lateral Entry for Diploma holders is allowed in the third semester / 2nd year of different Engineering programmes according to per norms of All India Council for Technological Education (AICTE). Generally, the details of the vacancies are announced before the start of the counselling.
