Reservations of the seats (a) In each college and in each ourse 19% of the total no. of seats shall be reserved for SC, 4% for ST and 14% for OBC category of candidates. (b) In each College and in each Course, horizontal reservation of 2% of total seats in that category, shall be reserved for dependants of freedom fighters, 2% for sons and daughters of defence personnel died or disabled in war, 3% for physically handicapped and 20% for women candidates.

Exam Pattern Selection is based on merit in competitive entrance exam in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English. For qualifying the test 50% marks are required (25% in case of SC/ST, 35% for sports, children/grand children of political sufferers, handicapped, 1984 riot affected).
Management Aptitude Test (MAT) Management Aptitude Test –MAT is a popular national entrance test among the management aspirants. This test is conducted by the Centre for Management Services (CMS) of All India Management Association (AIMA). Institutes offering PG program in management and allied subjects generally participate in this exam. All management institutes that participate in MAT are either AICTE (All Indian Council for Technical Education) approved or affiliated to universities. Exam Schedule The IMS-BHU, Varanasi conducts All India Entrance Examination for admission to different under graduate and post graduate courses. Test Centres HP-CMAT is conducted in the following centres: Delhi Chandigarh Shimla Solan Chandigarh Dharamshala. However, the Government reserves the right to change the centres according to its convenience. Therefore aspirants are advised to check the official notification of the HP-CMAT for the exact details.
Examination Centres Assignment Of Exam Centres Candidates who have studied the qualifying examination within Karnataka should write Common Entrance Test (CET) in a test centre within the district in which the candidate studied 2nd PUC or 12th standard. If the CET test centres are located in more than one place in a district, the candidate can choose one of the places. If there is more than one test centre in a place, then the decision to assign the test centre will rest with the CET Cell and the CET Cell decides on random basis the test centre of a candidate. Exam Pattern The test is conducted at Pondicherry and consists of 80 objective type questions in Physics & Chemistry and 10 questions in Biology (Zoology & Botany). The result is notified in leading newspapers and displayed in the College. Merit in JET and marks obtained in the qualifying exam; both of them are given equal weightage. Joint Entrance Exam Test - JMET Introduction - Joint Management Entrance Test (JMET) is the first step in the process of seeking admission to the 2-Year full time Post-Graduate Degree Programs in Management offered by the IITs & IISc.
