More than 13000 seats are available in different engineering disciplines offered at various engineering colleges across the state of West Bengal. 22% seats are reserved for schedule casts (SC) and 6 % seats are reserved for schedule tribes (ST) category candidates. However, 15% seats of all the engineering colleges are filled on the basis of All India Engineering Entrance Examination – AIEEE.

Introduction West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) is conducted by West Bengal Board of Examination. The students who appear and find place in merit ranking of WB - JEE can get admission into BE degree programs available across 54 engineering colleges within the state of West Bengal. These colleges offers courses in a range of engineering disciplines like – Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunications, Computers and IT, Instrumentation and production and Industrial etc.

No. of Seats Programs and Number of Seats Private unaided engineering colleges across Maharashtra offers seats in a number of engineering, scientific and technological disciplines i.e. chemical, civil, electrical, electronics, IT & Computers, Biotechnology, etc. to name a few. The Institute, courses available and No. of seats in a particular engineering discipline is as follows.
Reservations of the seats There are reservation of seats in all the Medical colleges across the state of Uttar Pradesh for different categories viz; schedule caste, schedule tribes, other backward classes etc. For exact details of No. of seats reserved, etc; please refer to information brochure.
Reservation Reservation in seats is available in Delhi College of Engineering (DCE) and Netaji Subhash Institute of Technology (NSIT) New Delhi. 15% seats for Scheduled Castes and 7.5% seats reserved for Scheduled Tribes. 5% seats for Children / Widows of Personnel of Armed / Para Military Forces Killed / disabled (CW) in action during hostilities. 3% seats for Physically Handicapped (1% for persons with low vision or blindness, 1% for hearing impaired, 1% for those with loco motor disabilities and / or cerebral palsy.)
No. of Seats The CET Cell generally comes to know about the exact number of seats, their classification and categories before the commencement of seat selection. Hence, an accurate number of seats to be offered for allotment as Government seats, college wise, category wise and course wise, cannot be made known exactly. The seat matrix (Government seats) in respect of Engineering, Technology and Architecture courses, as notified by the Government are published on the notice boards of the CET Cell and also on the CET website http://kar.nic.in/cet before the commencement of seat selection process. Management Seats Management seats are filled on the basis of the composite Merit List after the Regular Seats have been filled. The candidates who fail to get admission in the general category but interested in seeking admission under management category should make an application to that effect. For other details, please see the NMIMS website.
Reservations of the seats (a) In each college and in each ourse 19% of the total no. of seats shall be reserved for SC, 4% for ST and 14% for OBC category of candidates. (b) In each College and in each Course, horizontal reservation of 2% of total seats in that category, shall be reserved for dependants of freedom fighters, 2% for sons and daughters of defence personnel died or disabled in war, 3% for physically handicapped and 20% for women candidates.
Application Form Application form for Joint Entrance Examination – JEE can be purchased from the sales counter of West Bengal Board of Examination or from designated branches of UTI Banks of Kolkata Howrah. Candidates also can request for the same through post. The board issues notification for the sale of JEE application form and date of entrance examination etc in each year.
No. of Seats / Reservations The accurate number of seats available under various branches of different institutions will be notified on official website of RPETEAP during the time of admission. Except in case of unaided Private Institutions and 50% seats in the self-finance courses of the aided institutions, the reservation of seats will be made subject to the prevalent statutory provisions i.e. as per relevant rules and regulations of Govt. of Rajasthan viz. 16% for SC candidates, 12% for ST candidates and 21% for candidates belonging to OBC category. Horizontal reservation of 3% for candidates belonging to physically handicapped, 25% for women
Seats Availability The Government of Karnataka is yet to pass any order prescribing the percentage of seats to be filled by the management. The A.B.Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences, admits students belonging to the following two categories, under the Management seats: 1.Minority 2. NRI/ Foreign nationals 3. General As of now, the college can admit upto 50% of its total intake under these categories. The college awaits the decision of the Supreme Court of India with regard to the seat sharing ratio between the Management and the Government and also with regard to certain conditions which maybe stipulated for NRI / General category admissions.
Reservation of Seats 75% / 85% of seats is reserved for Pondicherry residents and remaining from other parts of India. 75 per cent (HSC Academic) / 85 per cent (HSC Vocational) of seats are reserved for Pondicherry residents and remaining 25 per cent / 15 per cent seats are for candidates from other parts of the India.

Reservation Internal Students- 25 % seats in all the courses are reserved for students who have passed qualifying examination from Jamia and fulfill the minimum requirement for the course and qualify for the prescribed entrance test. 15% seats in all the courses are reserved for schedule castes (SC) category candidates. 7.5 % seats in all the courses are reserved for schedule tribes (ST) category candidates. Candidates belonging to SC / ST category will be given 5 % weightage in the aggregate marks obtained in the qualifying examination. 3% seats in all the courses are reserved for Physically Handicapped (PH) category candidates.

It is conducted for admission into MCA (Master of Computer Applications) programme offered by the different Government / Private Engineering Colleges, Universities and Institutions across the state of West Bengal. Eligibility A candidate must be a citizen of India. A candidate who has appeared / appearing Higher Secondary i.e. 10 + 2 examination in the year of WB – JEE with at least 5 subjects of which not more than 2 subjects shall be vernacular subjects in General or Vocational stream of the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education. The candidate must have studied English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and vernacular or any other subject (Full marks not less than 100) or Equivalent examination of a recognized university or Board. Reservation of Seats SC/ST Candidates: 15% and 7.5% seats in each course are reserved for SC and ST category candidates. Candidates belonging to SC/ST categories are admitted on the basis of relaxed criteria (compared to GE / DS category candidates). In case all the reserved seats are not filled, a further relaxation is made in the admission criteria and a limited number of candidates are admitted to a Preparatory Course of one-year duration. This course attempts to prepare the students in Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry. On successful completion of preparatory course, the students are offered direct admission to the undergraduate programmes

Test Pattern The pattern of West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WB - JEE) for admission to engineering degree courses is as follows- The question paper consists of 100 questions of 200 marks. Each question carries 2 marks. All the questions are of objective type or multiple choice type containing four options. A correct choice is subject to award of 2 marks. Negative Marking – For every 3 wrong answers --2 marks are awarded. The candidate willing to take admission into B.E. / B. Tech Engineering Courses requires answering questions in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Those candidates who want to take admission into B. Arch. – Bachelor of Architecture
Admission Procedure for Foreign Students / NRIs Visa Requirements - Only those candidates are eligible who enters the country on Student Visa / Entry Visa or Diplomatic Visa. Applicants applying for any particular course must have to fulfill the eligibility criteria for the said course as prescribed by the Jamia Millia Islamia University Department. 15% seats in all the courses may be classified as supernumerary seats, which matter to approval by academic council of Jamia Millia Islamia from time to time.
