The Ministry of Human Resource Development, Department of Higher Educatoin , Government of India is going to launch Web and Video Courses developed by The Indian Institute of Technology( Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras and Roorkee) and The Indian Institute of Science, Banglore under The National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) on Sunday 3 rd September 2006. Service Tax may hits IIM and IIT campus recruiters Service Tax departments are now planning to take the service tax on the fees that institutes like IIM (Indian Institute of Management) and IIT (Indian Institute of Technology) takes from the multinationals and Indian companies that take the student in campus selections. So, the companies that need the students will have to pay an additional 12.24% on the fees they pay to the institutes. The institution levy fees on these companies depending upon number of days the campus selection actually starts.
