B.Ed Special Education (Visual Impairment)

NIVH-Regional Centre-a premier organization in the region, offers a range of innovative services for development of human resources in the field of visual impairment as also empowerment of blind and low vision persons. The Centre is introducing a new programme of Teacher-education - B.Ed Special Education (Visual Impairment) with effect from September, 2007. Applications are invited for admission to the Course.

Entry Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Secondary School subjects (Marks - OC 50%, BC 45%, MBC 43%, SC/ST40%, Disabled - pass) or, Master’s degree in Commerce, Economics or Home Science (50% marks).

Reservation: As per Govt, rules. Interested candidates may apply in the prescribed application form obtainable from this Centre in person from August 06, 07 (10-00 a.m. - 3-00 p.m., week days) on payment of Rs.300/- (Rs.175/- for SC/ST/Disabled on production of attested concerned certificate) or by post by sending a demand draft payable at Chennai drawn in favour of “NIVH Regional Centre” for Rs.350/-(Rs.225/- for SC/ST/Disabled on production of attested concerned certificate). Completed application forms must reach Regional Centre at the above address latest by 20th August 2007

Delhi University is set to launch multi-purpose resource centre in Braille

The prayers of hundreds of visually-challenged students in Delhi University have finally been answered. The university is all set to launch a multi-purpose resource centre which would not only have a huge collection of study material in Braille format, but also special studios to convert audio cassettes into text messages in Braille. The centre will be opened in the Central Reference Library, which will work as an extension to Braille Library which so far had limited reach.
