Admission Post Diploma in Thermal Power Plant Engineering (2007-08)
Fulfilling the mandatory requirements of Indian Electricity Rules, 1956, Amended In 1981
The main aim of the course is to develop a pool of technically trained manpower readily available for recruitment to the Indian Power Sector. The course improves and enhances the knowledge and skill of the diploma engineers sponsored.
About the Course: This course is of one year duration (2 semesters) and covers all aspects of. Operation & Maintenance of Thermal Power Plants. Formal coaching shall be held at NPTI, Nagpur (Maharastra), and the On-job training is conducted at the nearby Power Stations. The course authorizes the Diploma Holders to operate or undertake maintenance of any part or whole of generating station of capacity 100 MW and above together with the associated substation.
Eligibility: Three years Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or Equivalent from a recognized. Technical Board with minimum of 55%marks.
Selection Procedure: Merit (% of marks).
Age Limit: 27 Years as on 31-08- 2007. No age limit for sponsored candidates.
Total Seats: 50 (Fifty)
Reservation for SC/ST and physically handicap is applicable as per Government norms.
Placement: NPTI maintains close linkages with power utilities for employment of these trained engineers.
How to Apply: Applications on plain paper alongwith the demand draft of Rs. 400/- in favour of NPTI payable at Nagpur should reach. The Principal Director of your preferred institute (addresses given below) latest by 31-08-2007 with two passport size photographs in the following format:
Attach attested copies of proof of item no.
Fees: For non-sponsored candidates Rs. 40,000/- (in two installments).
For candidates sponsored from SEBs/ PSUs/ private utilities Rs.75, 000/-payable in lump-sum at the time of admission. There is no fee concession for any category of candidates. Fee for candidates from foreign countries:

Other Countries : US $ 5500 Lodging/ Boarding: Facilities available on nominal charges. Separate hostel for girls.
