United States Educational Foundation in India (USEF) announces the International Leadership in Education Program (ILEP) for secondary-level (classes 9 to 12) school teachers, teaching English, Social Studies, Mathematics and Science at Schools in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and union territories in South India. In addition to teachers from India, ILEP will bring together teachers from Near East, South Asia, and Southeast Asia to the United States for a six-month professional development program (January-June 2008) that will further develop expertise in their subject areas, enhance their teaching skills, and increase their knowledge about the United States.

The U.S. based academic program will include coursework and intensive training in teaching methodologies, curriculum writing, teaching strategies and educational leadership. Selected Indian teachers will receive round-trip transportation, room and board and applicable allowances, and will travel on J 1 visas.

The University Grants Commission invited applications for the scheme for Award of Post Graduate Scholarships for Professional Courses for SC/ST candidates.

The Scheme has been initiated keeping in view of the social background of candidates from the deprived section of the Society and to provide them opportunity to undertake Post-Graduate Level studies in professional subjects like Engg. & Tech, Management, Pharmacy etc. (in Indian Universities and Colleges).

The objective of the scheme is to provide an opportunity to SC/ST candidates to undertake Post Graduate Level Studies in Professional Subjects at Indian Universities and Colleges.

The candidate should have graduate degree in the relevant subject and obtained admissible degree at the Post-Graduate Level in any of the professional subject in a recognized Universities / Colleges. The upper age limit for male applicants is 45 years as on 1st July on the year of and 50 years in the case of female candidates. The tenure of fellowship is for completion of Post-Graduation.

The value of scholarship shall be for professional course Rs.5, 000/- p.m. (M. Tech) with the Contingency of Rs.15, 000/- p.a. and for other courses Rs.3, 000/- p.m. with the contingency of Rs.10, 000/- p.a. respectively.

No minimum percentage of marks for those Teachers either in Engineering or Polytechnic who joined before 28-02-1989. The Candidates must have a minimum of two years of full time experience.

Regular Non-sponsored GATE Qualified Candidates admitted to M.E./M.Tech. Courses will be awarded a Scholarship of Rs. 5,000/- per month in accordance with the rules and regulations prescribed for eligibility and the Scholarship will be paid for a maximum period of 24 months.

1. One Year condensed course in “Tool & Die Making”

Qualification: Matriculation with Maths & Science

2. One Year Advanced Technician Course in “Tool Room Machine Operation & Die Fitter”

Qualification : Matriculation or equivalent with ITI or NCTVT (Machinist / Miller / Grinder / Turner / Fitter / Tool & Die Making

Age: Max. 24 year as on 01.11.2007 (2 year relaxation for SC / ST candidates)

Mode of Selection: Based on Test / Interview, to be held on the prescribed application form & Prospectus can be obtained from the Training Deptt. between 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on payment of Rs. 200/- (non-refundable) for Course no. 1 and Rs. 100/- (non-refundable) and Rs. 25/- for SC/ST) for course no. 2 in person or by sending DD in favour of TRTC, Delhi. Filled application forms should reach on or before 15.10.2007.

Test & Interview for course no 1 will be held on 17.10.2007.

Test & Interview for course no.2 will be held on 18.10.2007.

Admission for 10th Pass Students

Name of the Course: 2 Years Certificate Course in “Machinist-Tool Room”.

Age Limit: 15-21 Years (Born between 01.08.1986 & 01.08.1992

Course Fees: 12,000/- per year.

Last Date of receipt of filled in Application: 26.06.2007

Commencement of course: 1st August 2007

Selection Procedure: Written Test & Personal Interview on 10th standard basis.

Interested candidates may collect the prospectus & Application Form at the following address personally by paying Rs.100/- in cash or can be obtain by post by sending Demanding Draft for Rs. 150/- in favour of “Tool Room & Training Center, Guwahati” payable at Guwahati from 02.05.2007 onwards.

Students appearing in X-th (HSLC) final examination in 2007 can also apply, but they have to submit the pass certificate before they can join the class.
