SCHOLARSHIPS IN INDIAN INSTITUTE OF CERAMICS CARE

INDIAN INSTITUTE OF CERAMICS CARE: Central Glass & Ceramic Research Institute P.O. Jadavpaur University, Kolkata 700032 (West Bengal). Associate Membership Examination (Recognised by the Govt. of India as equivalent to 1st degree in Ceramics). Applications are required to be sent in the prescribed form for appearing in the above examination which takes place during October.

Minimum Qualification: B.Sc. or Diploma in Ceramics with 2 years professional experience in the field of ceramics in each case. B.Sc. students must have Mathematics as one subject together with any one out of Physics, Chemistry and Geology. The examination consists to two parts: part I & II and is held once every year. The candidates may appear in any number of subjects in a year. Proposed examination centres are Kolkata, Delhi, Bangalore, Gudur, Bhilai and Baroda. A set of study materials and a few recommended books are available on payment. The Institute is also conducting a short term course on “Science of Ceramic Systems” at Kolkata during August for the benefit of the candidates.

SCHOLARSHIPS IN J.N. TATA ENDOWMENT LOAN SCHOLARSHIPS

J.N. TATA ENDOWMENT LOAN SCHOLARSHIPS:
Eligibility : Applicants should be graduates of a recognized Indian University, with a consistently good academic record. Students in the final year of the degree course and those awaiting results are eligible to apply. Academics and other mid-career professionals with a good academic background and experience in their field who wish to go abroad for further specialization are also eligible.

Candidates applying for the scholarship should have applied for admission to universities abroad. Applications for scholarship from students awaitingadmissions aborad would also be considered. However, the final award is subject to their securing admission.

Selection : After the initial screening, candidates would be short-listed for an interview in person by subject experts. The interview is held at Mumbai between March and June and the final selection for the award is announced by the end of July.

Procedure for Applying : Application forms are issued from the administrative office of the Endowment at Mulla House, 51 M. G. Road, Mumbai 400001, on payment of requisite charges. Last date for the issue of application forms: January.

SCHOLARSHIPS IN K.C. MAHINDRA SCHOLARSHIPS

K.C. MAHINDRA SCHOLARSHIPS
K.C. Mahindra Education Trust offers Interest-Free Loan Scholarships to Indian nationals for Hr. Education abroad in various fields for advanced studies in Engineering, Natural Science, Humanities, Medicine & Business Management including the study of Military, Naval and Aviation Sciences. The maximum amount of scholarship payable to any scholar shall not exceed R;. 95000/-. Applicants for these scholarships are required to satisfy the following conditions:

(a) They must possess a First Class degree or an equivalent diploma of the same standard from a recognised Indian University.

(b) They must have secured admission or at least have applied for admission in reputable foreign Universities for courses commencing from September but not later than February.

Candidates studying in the Final Year of the degree or diploma courses are also eligible to apply provided they produce their final year Certificate before end Government and Quasi Government Officers with a creditable academic record, going abroad for specialised qualifications are also eligible to apply.

Preliminary applications should be forwarded to the Managing Trustee, K.C. Mahindra Education Trust, Cecil Court, 3rd Floor, Mahakavi Bhushan Marg, Mumbai 400001 along with self-addressed stamped envelope. The prescribed application form is sent only to those candidates who are considered to have the requisite qualifications as stated above.

February. Prescribed application forms duly filled in by the applicants together with necessary enclosures must reach the Trust Office before the specified date in March.

The final selection of the candidates would take place in the 2nd week of July and the interview date is intimated to the selected ones during second week of May.

Eveready Welfare Services invites applications for Scholarships from Indian nationals in advanced educational in Management, all branches of Engineering and Electro-Chemistry at reputed institutions in India Ten scholarships each of a maximum Rs. 20,000 per annum are proposed to be awarded for upto 4 years of study (depending on the duration of the course).

Eligibility:

(a) First class academic record throughout the career.

(b) Firm admission in the first year of a reputed Indian University/Institute for Graduate/Post Graduate studies as full-time student.

(c) The combined gross income of both the parents not to exceed Rs. 1,50,000 per year.

The Trustees of the Lady Tata Memorial Trust offer scholarships for scientific investigations having a bearing directly or indirectly on the alleviation of human suffering from disease.

Scholars with first class academics are required to work whole time under the direction of a scientist of standing in a recognised institution. Rates of scholarships and other particulars are as follows
:
1. Senior Scholarships to graduates in Medicine (MBBS} with completed internship. Value: Rs. 5000-200-7200 with a contingency grant of Rs. 7500 p.a. Age limit: 30 years.

2. Junior Scholarship to B.Sc. with disti nction & 2 years research experience. Val ue: Rs. 4000-100-4200 with a contingency grant Rs. 7500 p.a. Age limit: 27years. The quantum of Awards in respect of MBBS qualified candidates depend on qualification, research experience and publication.

THE PAUL FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP: These scholarship are offered to the outstanding Young scholars eager to relize their dreams and fulfill their aspiration which would make a positive contribution to building a better society.

Scholarships are offered to students with confirmed admissions to the best Universities and advanced centers of learning in India and abroad. Enrolment confirmation must be provided prior to interview date. Funding would be given for graduate studies, research and training in the humanities, basic sciences, applied sciences, medicine, law, fine arts, and applied arts, community and social management.

SCHOLARSHIPS IN THE NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF SINGAPORE

THE NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF SINGAPORE, offers admission to Graduate
Programmes by Research (leading to an MSc or a PhD) in the Faculty of Science. Successful candidates would undertake research in a chosen field of study under the guidance of supervisors and write up a thesis for examination. They would also be required to attend and pass courses.

Eligibility: The applicant must have a First Class Honours (4 year) degree or a First Class MSc by course work plus the ability to pursue research in the proposed field of study. Applicants who wish to pursue a doctoral degree would need to pass a qualifying examination by the end of his/her third semester. The minimum and maximum periods of candidature for both full-time and part-time candidates are one and three years for master’s degrees, and two and five years for doctoral degree respectively.

SCHOLARSHIPS IN ITC OVERSEAS SCHOLARSHIPS

ITC OVERSEAS SCHOLARSHIPS: The ITC Overseas scholarships are offered for business management and environment management/environment engineering related programmes. The post-graduate scholarships, worth up to Rs. 1,00,000 per annum, are offered for two years of study. While due consideration would be given to merit, the scholarships are also means-based.

TATA INSTITUTE OF FUNDAMENTAL RESEARCH: FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: Junior Scholars are paid a fixed monthly scholarship of Rs 4000 p.m. initially. There is an annual contingency education grant of Rs 2,000. Admissions are made for a year at a time but are renewable annually. Candidates called for interview from outstation are paid railway fare each way by ordinary second class (sleeper class for travel beyond 500 kms) and a sum of Rs 105 as halting allowance for the day on which they are interviewed.
