UGANDA GOVERNMENT COMMONWEALTH SCHOLARSHIPS TENABLE AT MAKERERE UNIVERSITY
Commonwealth Scholarships tenabfe at Makerere University pursuing Master level course in Uganda are offered to Indian nationals residing in India.

Subject-Fields: (a) Crop Science (2 Scholarships) (b) Statistics & Applied Science (2 Scholarship)

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in the subject or allied fields with minimum 60% marks. Duration: 2 years. Age: Below 35 years as on 31st July.

Value: (a) Air travel to Uganda and back after completion of study, (b) Out of pocket allowance, tuition fees. Accommodation would be given by Uganda Government, (c) Other terms would be same as commonly offered by other Commonwealth countries (please note that no members of the family are allowed to accompany the scholar).

YUGOSLAV GOVERNMENT SCHOLARHIPS
5 scholarships are offered to Indian Nationals in the following subject-fields :

(1) Ceramic and Glass Technology

(2) Naval Architecture and

(3) Fisheries Technology.

Minimum Qualifications: Uniformly good academic record with 60% or above marks at B.Sc/B.E degree.

Essential Experience: At least two years teaching/research practical experience as in January in the subject field selected after the prescribed qualifications (M.Phil./research for Ph.D. is counted towards one year experience).

Age: 33 years as in April but relaxable up to 2 years for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe candidates.

Value: It carries the following allowance payable by the Government of Yugoslavia. The scholarship
holders receive boarding and lodging in student hostels. Besides this, they get a 5258 Dinars pocket money and 2190 dinars in one disbursement towards books. Travel expenses in the country and within the specialisation programme.

Passage Cost: The cost of passage from India to Yugoslavia and back borne by the candidate or his/her sponsors/employers. Subject to the availability of funds, the passage cost may also be met by the Government of India, provided the candidate is eligible under the rules subject to income criterion.

VIETNAM GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIPS
Two Vietnam Government Scholarships for Post-graduate studies in Vietnamese language and Vietnamese culture are offered to Indian nationals:

Eligibility: Graduate or equivalent degree with at least 55% marks from recognised university. Age: Should not be more than 35 years as in July. Duration: 4-year.

Value: The Scholars are provided with the living allowance of 750,000 VND (approx, $50) a month which can meet daily demand and free accommodation in hostel for the duration of stay in Vietnam.

Passage Cost: The air-fare for Delhi-Hanoi-Delhi Sector would be provided by the Government of Vietnam.

SYRIAN GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIP

TURKISH GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIPS
Four Scholarships of 8 months duration, are offered to Indian nationals in the subject fields: Architecture, Restoration of Preservation of Monuments.

Eligibility: Age: Below 40 years (42 years for SC/ST). Qualifications for Architecture: Bachelor’s degree in Architecture. Restoration & Preservation of Historical Monuments: Bachelor’s degree in Architecture with 4 years experience in conservation of monuments. (Candidates with 60% marks at the qualifying exam are eligible.) Candidates having knowledge of Turkish language are given preference. Upper age limit and experience may be relaxed upto 3 months in case of brilliant candidates. Addl Requirements: Good knowledge of geography, culture and heritage of Turkey: 3 years consecutive stay in India after return from abroad for study/training.

SLOVAK GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIP
Slovak Government offers 2 scholarships for PG level studies in Economy Management & Agriculture.

Eligibility: Below 26 years. Qualification: First class Bachelor Degree with minimum of 60% marks in the relevant subject. Duration: As per rules of Slovak University.

POLISH GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIP
The following Scholarships are offered the subject fields indicated below:

Subject Fields:
(a) PC Course Town & Country Planning at Technical University. Duration: 6
months. No. of Scholarships: 2.

(b) PC and Doctoral Course in Polish Language. Duration: 2 years. No. of Scholarships: 1-2.

(c) Doctoral Degree in Mining Tech. Duration: 3 yrs. Scholarships: 2.

Eligibility: Indian nationals residing in India. Age: Below 33 yrs (35 yrs for SC/ ST). Qualifications: (A) Town & Country Planning: Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture/Civil Engineering or Master’s Degree in Geography with PG Diploma in Town & Country Planning. (B) Candidate should be nominated by the Department of Slavonic and Ugro Finn Studies of Delhi University. Master’s Degree in the subject/related field. Candidates should have uniformly good academic record with 60% marks in the qualifying exam.

Experience: 2 years consecutive teaching/research/practical experience after obtaining the prescribed qualification. M.Tech candidates with one year’s experience may also be considered. M.Phil/PhD degree is counted as one year’s experience. Good knowledge of English is essential. Candidates having contacts/dlacements at the Institute in Poland are given preference. Addl Requirements: Good knowledge about Poland; 2 years consecutive stay in India after return from abroad for study/training.

Value: Adequate maintenance allowance, free medical assistance, tuition and lodging. Passage Cost: Travel expenses from India to Poland and back are payable by candidate/sponsors/employer.

NORWEGIAN GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIPS
Norwegian Government offers Scholarships in the subject fields of:

MSc in International Community Health: Duration: 4 semesters Eligibility: Candidates should have Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 60% marks in aggregate. Priority would be given to students selected by already collaborating institutions. Any already established links to such development programmes in their home country should be mentioned in the application. English language skill documented by either TOEFL test (minimum 550 points) or IELTS band 6.0. Age: Between 25 and 35 years.

MSc. in Special Needs Education: Duration: 4 semesters

Eligibility: A bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 60% marks (at least three
years beyond the Norwegian minimum requirement for matriculation) in
Special Needs Education or other relevant subject.

OR
A qualified teachers training certificate followed by a minimum of one year’s
full time university or college study in Special Needs Education. This
combination, or in special circumstances other relevant qualifications, must
have been approved as equivalent to the level of a bachelor’s degree. English
ianguage skill documented by either TOEFL test (min. 550 points) or IELTS
(band 6.0)

A minimum of 3 years full time professional practice in Special Needs Education is required.

Age: Between 25 and 35 years.

MSc. in International Fisheries Management:

Eligibility: A bachelor’s degree (at least three years duration) with biology/ ecology and/or economics/organization/law, of which at least two years must have been undertaken at university level with 60% marks in aggregate. Applicants must have knowledge of mathematics and statics
corresponding to the university’s introductory courses in these subjects.

NETHERLANDS GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIP: offers 4 scholarships in
Subject Fields: Electronics/Computer Science (and Components)-(1 Scholarship); Coastal Engineering/Harbour Design and Management-0 Scholarship); Historical and economic relations between India and the Netherlands with special reference to the Dutch East Indies Company; and Indo-lndonesian Historical ties till 1940-(2 Scholarships)

MEXICAN GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIP
Mexican Govt. offers to Indian nationals to undertake studies at a Mexican University or any institution of higher education in Mexico. The scholarships would be available for studies in the following subjects:

Subjects of Study: (1) Electronics & Communication (2) Architecture (3) Latin American Studies (4) Spanish Literature.

Since all scholarships would be offered only to Spanish speaking applicants, it is mandatory that all the applicants are able to speak Spanish at the time of submitting their application. Only in exceptional cases, the Government of Mexico might consider to exempt this pre-requisite by giving the students a 6-month course in Spanish and Mexican Culture in Mexico, prior to the main studies.

Eligibility: Should have Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with 55% marks in relevant subject for Post-graduate studies. Age: Below 35 years.

Value: Enrolment and scholar fees, monthly allowance for economic support equivalent to (a) 4 Mexico City (DF) minimum wages corresponding to the Mexico City area for scholarships at Master’s level.

Passage Cost: International air fare at the beginning and at the end of the scholarship would be paid by the Government of Mexico.

KOREAN (SOUTH) GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIP: Two Scholarships for Post-graduate studies leading to Doctoral/Ph.D. Degree in Korean Studies, Humanities, Social Science, Natural Sciences and Engineering and other subjects.

JAPANESE GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIPS
Japanese Government offers to Indian nationals residing in India scholarships for Research Studies. The subject in which scholarships would be awarded are given below:

(1) Microprocessor Applications/Technology, (2) Opto-electronics, (3) Fibre Optics, (4) Quality & Reliability Engineering (as applied to various systems like Electricity & Power, Railways, Heavy Industry, Heavy Electronics, Electronics & Communications etc.), (5) Robotics, (6) Laser Technology, (7) Bio-Technology, (8) Ship-Building, (9) Biological Oceanography, (10) Japanese Language & Literature, (11) Transportation & Information System Engg., (12) Fisheries, (13) Japanese Studies, (14) Earthquake Engg., (15) Management Studies, (16) Urban Development.

Duration: 1]/2 to 2 years. Age Limit: below 35 years as on 1st April, of the year of award.

Qualification: (1) Japanese Language: Students who are enrolled in the Post Graduate Degree course in Japanese Language from a recognized university or completed undergraduate Degree Course in Japanese Language from a recognised university or Students who have completed undergraduate degree course in any subject from recognised university and who have completed Level 2 of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) conducted by Japan. Foundation and have completed at least 3 years of Japanese Language study from a recognised university/Institute in India. (2) Ship Building: Bachelors degree in the relevant field with minimum 60% marks. Candidate should possess at least two consecutive years of practical research/teaching/work experience as in July.

Value: Maintenance allowance of 1,84,000 yen per month, arrival allowance of 25,000 yen, Field Study allowance, tuition and examination fees exempted, part of the medical expenses in Japan would be paid. Accommodation would be arranged. Passage Cost: Tourist class air-ticket from India to Japan and back would be provided by the Japanese Government.

ITALIAN GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIPS
Scholarships are offered to the Indian Nationals residing in India, for award of the following categories of scholarships, by the Government of Italy:

Cat. C: Six scholarships of three months duration each to pursue Level III (Intermediate) course of Italian Language at the University for Foreigners, Perugia.

Cat. D: Six scholarships of two months duration each to pursue Supplementary course of Italian Language at the University for Foreigners, Perugia.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements (For Cat. C & D)

1. Graduate or equivalent degree from a recognised university. 2. Good knowledge of Italian. 3. Proof of knowledge of Italian language (like a diploma or certificate) mandatory. 4. Age below 45 years as in May of the year of award.

Scholarship Allowances: Selected candidates would get an amount of Euro 619.75 per month as scholarship amount. The above-mentioned amount is inclusive of stay in Italy as well as the course fee which is reduced to 50% for all scholarships holders. No International travel cost to and fro Italy or local travel cost while in Italy for any Category of the above Scholarships would be paid either by the Government of Italy or by the Government of India. Therefore, an undertaking to the effect (as in Annexure-H) that the international travel cost to and fro Italy and local passage while in Italy (if any) would be borne by the candidates or his/her employers/sponsors should also be submitted along with application.

IRISH GOVERNMENT FELLOWSHIPS
Irish Government offers to Indian Nationals having primary (Graduate) degree only for the award of (six) Irish Government Fellowships. These fellowships provide an opportunity to progress to postgraduate level of study.
