Category A: Three scholarships of six months duration each to pursue the level V (superior ) course of Italian language at the University for Foreigners, Pergula (from 3rd July to December 2006)

Eligibility: 1. Possession of diploma of level IV from the University for Foreigners, Perugia, Italy. Age: Must not exceed 45 years as on the specified date.

Category B: Six scholarships of three months duration each to pursue the Level IV (Advanced) course of Italian language at the University for Foreigners, Perguia (from July to September).

Eligibility: Possession of diploma of level III from the University for Foreigners, Perugia, Italy. Age: Must not exceed 45 years as on the specified date.

Category C: Six scholarships of three months duration each to pursue the Level III (Intermediate) course of Italian language and Culture at the University for Foreigners, perguia (from July to September).

Category D: Five scholarships of two months duration each to pursue Supplementary (Basic) course of Italian language at the University for Foreigners, Perguia (from May to June).

Eligibility for C & D: Good knowledge of Italian, proof knowledge language, age not exceed 45 years.

Value (For Category A, B, C and D): Selected candidates will get an amount of Euro 619.75 per moth as scholarship amount. The above mentioned amount is inclusive for stay in Italy as well as reduced to 50% for all scholarships holders.

Eligibility: Candidates should have 55% or more marks for Humanities. For Agriculture 60% or more marks and two years research/work/ teaching experience. Candidates who are staying abroad will not be considered. Candidate who are already abroad for more than six months for study/ research/ training are eligible to apply only if they stayed in India for two consecutive years after their return from abroad.

Age: 35 years. No. of Scholarships: 6 (4 for 8 months research and 2 for P.h.D.). Duration: 8 month{research)/ one year for P.D. Value: To be paid by Israeli Government to cover stay, tuition fees, health insurance etc. Passage Cost: India to Israel and back is payable by the candidate/sponsor/employer who will apply for 8 months research. SCHOLARSHIPS FOR STUDIES IN GREECE



Subjects: Mathematics, Political Philosophy/Political Thought.

Eligibility: Masters Degree with 60% or more marks OR Two years teaching/research/practical experience Candidates should be pursuing studies in Universities or Research Centres. Age: Below 40 years. No. of Scholarship: 1. Duration: 10 months.

Value: Monthly subsidy: 150.000 drachmas to Post Graduate or research scholars. Passage Cost: Travelling expenses from India to Greece and back to be borne by the candidate or his/her sponsor/ employee. Lump sum for establishment expenses: 20,000 drachmas for scholars who will reside in Athens and 30,000 drachmas who will reside in the province. Scholars whose scholarships is renewed are not entitled to this sum.

Value: A lump sum of 30,000 drachmas for transport expenses within the country to scholars who have to travel from their place of residence in order to perform the research program approved by the Department, provided that there is a justified proposal of the supervising professor.

Exemption from tuition fees: it is underlined that, in the event that the postgraduate or research scholar wish to attend Greek Language Courses, they are not exempt from tuition fees which must be paid to the Modern Greek language College.

Gratis medical care in the event of emergency, only in Public Hospitals.

(iii) PhD Fellowships: Eligibility: The candidate should be a Staff/ Research fellow of Indian Institute of Technology, Agricultural, Veterinary and Forestry Universities and Institutes, Institutions of National Importance and/or relevant Universities. ???? preferably have contacts with German Professors/placement at the German Institutes. Have letters from German Scientists/Professors confirming that the proposed research could be carried out at their Institutes/ letter of admission for Ph.D. programme. Eligibility: Indian national residing in India. Master’s Degree with 60% marks in respect of Soil Science and Dairy Technology. Experience 2 years teaching/research/practical experience after obtaining Master’s Degree. Age: The application is normally accepted from those candidates who have completed their master’s Degree in the subject concerned within the last five years of the specified date of the Year of advertisement.

Other requirements (common for United kingdom, Canada and New Zealand): Knowledge of India and of the donor country; 2 years consecutive stay in India after return from abroad for study/training/ specialisation. Candidates qualifying from universities which do not award class/division, requirements in lieu of First Class or 60% marks (in case of grades, conversion formula may be given where grades are awarded). For candidates who are doing Ph.D./M.Phil, after completion of Master’s Degree, actual period of research is taken into consideration as experience.

Value/Passage Cost: Travel to and from New Zealand is arranged by the shortest route and economy class as arranged by the authorities of the donor No provision is made for the expenses of the dependent. Expenditure on board, lodging, books, study material, tuition fee, internal travel related to studies and medical care is met by donor country.

(i) Scholarships to Pursue Higher Studies in India and Abroad. The foundation whose aim is to help those Indians with a demonstrated ability in their particular discipline and to give them an opportunity to emerge as a globally recognised leaders.

Courses: There are no restrictions on subjects. Scholarships are not given for Management Studies, Medicine or any other course which leads to the enhancement of commercial value of the applicant. Funds is given as an encouragement to research, programmes degrees, and courses that improve the candidate’s capacity to contribute positively to the community, environment and the realm of ideas.

(ii) Scholarships is awarded for Higher Studies. Subjects: Humanities, Basic Sciences, Fine Arts, Applied Arts and Performing Arts, Communications, Special Education 7 Law. This is an indicative list.

Universities/Institutions: All top ranked Universities of the world, including, Oxford, Cambridge, LSE, Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine, Royal College of Art in the U.K.. and Harvard, MIT, Columbia, Tufts, Brown, Stanford, Berkeley in U.S.

Eligibility: Candidates should have obtained admission to the university or Institution of their choice prior to submission of application forms. The Committee will consider only those candidates for interviews and the decision of the Board of Governors will be final. Specific Projects Proposed by the Candidate: Research, to be carried out in India and abroad either independently, or at a leaking institution. Candidates are expected to provide full details of proposed programmes, costs, evidence of affiliation/admission to such institutions. Preference is given to projects/research that explore new areas of knowledge.

Tenure of scholarship: The maximum benefit to a candidate going overseas will not exceed Rs. 15 lakhs per year. Scholarships may be given in full or in part.

Selection Procedure: The selection is made by an independent Selection committee on the basis of written applications followed by personal interviews. Last date: No time bar.

Postgraduate: 1st class degree. Last date: February for Indian Universities and June for Overseas.

Professional/Undergraduate: 75% marks for Undergraduates in the last exam or a good academic record. Last Date: June

Age: Scholarships are open to all Indian citizens of either sex and are resident in India at the time of application. They must be below 30 years of age (45 years for research/ creative projects) at the time of application. Preference is given to candidates who have not yet studied abroad. The foundation also encourages applications from young people who are currently employed. They are also advised not to submit their application unless all requirements have been fulfilled.

Overseas Scholarships is not awarded to candidates whose proposed course of study or specific project require field work trips to India during their tenure. The final interviews take place in June/July. All applicants must be available for interviews in India at their own cost.
