SCHOLARSHIPS IN DEPARTMENT OF CULTURE
DEPARTMENT OF CULTURE (Government of India), Room No. 333, ‘C-Wing, Department of Culture, Shastri Bhawan, New Delhi 110001 awards 400 Scholarships each year to Young Artists in following culture fields:
(1) Indian Classical Music (2) Indian Classical Dance
(3) Theatre (4) Visual Arts, and
(5) Folk, Traditional and Indigenous Arts
The selected awardees are required to undergo advanced training on a full-time basis for two years under a reputed Guru/Institute within one month of the award of Scholarship.
Value: Rsi 2000/- per month. Age: 18-25 as on 1st April.
Note: The Gurus/Institutes are requested to give this certificate only if the applicant has undergone training for a minimum period of five years. The training undergone need not be under the same Guru/Institute.
2. Candidates of Visual Arts in all the fields except Sculpture should have minimum qualification of Bachelor of Fine Arts or equivalent. In Sculpture no minimum qualification is prescribed.
3. A short note on Gharana/Sampradaya/Special School (Sakha) in case of Music and Dance may be indicated.
