Research Scholars offers Doctoral Programme in Geomagnetism and allied fields. Selected candidates may be requires to do research work at Mumbai or at any other Centre of the Institute.

Eligibility: M.Tech./M.Sc. in Physics/Applied Physics/Geophysics/ Applied Mathematics, with a minimum of 60% marks throughout and Physics as subjects in B.Sc. Age: 28 years.

Value: Rs. 8,000 per month (consolidated) for First and Second years and Rs. 9,000 per month in subsequent years. In addition, book grant or Rs. 6,000 per month is provided to the students registered for Ph.D. Passage: Ilnd class train fare by the shortest route is paid to outstation candidates for attending the test/interview.

Selection Criteria: A written test is held at the Institute in Mumbai followed by Personal Interview. Candidates who have cleared the NET/SET/GATE/JRF of CSIR/UGC examination in any one of the three proceeding years in subject code-2 (Earth Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences) or subject code-5 (Physical Sciences) are called directly for the interview.
