Offers scholarships for graduate courses. Some of the subjects for which these scholarships are given are Business Administration, Architecture, Film, Television, Journalism, Special Education, Law, Design and Fashion Design, Theatre and Dance, Music and Composition, Fine Arts, Applied Arts and Conservation.

Detailed information:
Inlaks Foundation Scholarship: Inlaks Scholarships provide the opportunity to young people with exceptional talent in any field to broaden their vision abroad and improve their skills to operate in
society, thus making them a future vehicle of change in their environment.

The scholarships are of two types: university courses and specific programs. University Courses Scholarships for up to 2 years at top American, European and UK institutions, for degrees in all kind of subjects, except Engineering, Computer Sciences, Management, English Literature, Indian History, Urban Design and Philosophy. Candidates must have admission to their proposed course of studies before applying.

Specific Programs Proposed by the Candidate Scholarships for research, training or professional improvement to be carried out abroad either independently, or attached to a leading institution. Candidates are expected to provide full details of their proposed programs, including time and travelling plans, a full breakdown of costs, and evidence of agreement with such institutions if required. Eligibility : Scholarships are open to all Indian citizens of either sex who hold a good degree from a recognised university and are resident in India at the time of application. It is essential to have prior admission to the institution and course chosen. The Foundation will not consider candidates without admission or pending admission. The institutions concerned must only be top rank. Candidates must be below 30 years of age on the first of July in the year of application. Preference will be given to candidates who have not yet studied abroad. Candidates who are already studying or have started their program abroad are not eligible. The award of other grants, teaching assistantships and support from other sources for the proposed programme will be regarded by the Foundation as a positive factor. The Foundation also encourages applications from young people currently employed.

You should be concerned about:

1. Your achievements, academic and otherwise. We will need proof that you are an achiever.

2. Your potential. We pride ourselves on judging potential as much as performance. It isn’t just what you have already achieved; it’s what we can help you achieve in the future.

3. The suitability of your course, project or programme. You must persuade us that the course/ programme is right for you and that you are right for it.

Duration: Duration of the scholarship is up to 2 years. It covers for the period granted tuition fees, adequate living expenses and one¬way travel. In case of specific programs the financial coverage will be discussed directly with the candidate. Those opting for courses lasting for more than 2 years (i.e. Ph.D.) will have to seek funding from other sources. Acceptance of other scholarships, teaching assistantships and part time jobs are welcome after approval from the Foundation. Scholarship will not be awarded to candidates whose proposed course of study or specific project requires field trips back to India during tenure. Scholarships are awarded in June generally for commencement in subsequent October.

The Foundation also operates several schemes within the country, such as the Inlaks Awards at leading Indian institutions, the Inlaks Take-Off Grants, the Inlaks Fine Arts Awards, the Inlaks Music Awards, the Inlaks Sports Awards. Since its inception it has developed colleges and hospitals in Bangalore, Pune and Mumbai, and has granted financial assistance to over one hundred Indian charitable institutions.

Inlaks Take-Off Grants
Inlaks Foundation provides Take-Off Grants to enable young people to realize their potential, which for lack of financial support has hitherto been prevented from flourishing.

The Take-Off-Grants are for constructive projects which assist in the development of an individual talent.

The grant amount is tailored to individual needs.

Eligibility
The Take-Off-Grant is for work/ research/ training within the Country.

Candidate must be under 30 years of age.

Inlaks Sports Awards
financially supports talented young sports men and women.

The applicant should have proven outstanding record and potential to grow in any given sport. The applicant should preferably be under 25 years of age. The award may also cover travel and maintenance for exceptionally talented sports men and women traveling for tournaments.

Selection: The selection is done by an independent panel of experts and sportspersons.
About Inlaks Fine Arts Awards:

The Foundation encourages young artists to find their feet after college, and provides financial assistance to enable them to work on their own anywhere in India. The awards are intended to help artists in their formative years to develop their creative talent.

Number of awards: Typically 2 or 3 per year. Eligibility: Anyone with a graduate Degree/Diploma from any leading Indian Fine Art Institution in India in any field of the fine arts (including photography) and not older than 30 years.

Award amount : An award of Rs.5000/- per month for a year; extendable to another year depending on the quality of work produced by the artist and the report of the referees.

Inlaks Awards at Indian Institutions (IITs etc.): These scholarships at IITs are the beginning of a new scheme of identifying and supporting bright students within the Country.
Selections for the awards are done annually in collaboration with the faculty at IITs.

Inlaks Music Awards
Inlaks Award for Indian Classical Music enables talented young musicians to realize their full potential in the realm of Indian classical music within the country. Each year two young musicians are awarded the Inlaks Award for Indian Classical Music.

The selected musicians will be financially supported for one year for training in Indian classical music.

The criteria for selection are Recognition of exceptional talent in music. Potential to achieve higher levels of excellence in music. Reference, continued guidance and evaluation by the guru.

Value: 70,000 yen per month. Applications are to be sent to the Foreign Students Affairs Office of the university specified by the Moriya Foundation.
