Eligibility: The fellowship is open to Indian nationals who possess a good Master’s degree in Indian History of Archaeology with ancient languages, regional languages and oriental languages including Arabic, Persian, Sanskrit, Pali etc. up to graduation level; or a good Master’s degree in ancient languages, regional languages and oriental languages including Arabic, Persian, Sanskrit, Pali etc. with Indian History or archaeology etc. up to graduation level and have already been registered for study/research or M.Phil, or Ph.D. degree in any university/institution in India in any or the field mentioned above. The applications should be sent duly recommended by authorised guide and recommended by the concerned departments of University/ Institution.
Age: Not more than 35 years as on the specified date. Relaxable up to 40 in exceptional cases. Duration: Two years extendable in exceptional cases for another year. No. of Fellowships: 10.
Value: Rs. 600 p.m.
Selection Procedure: Selection is made on the basis of merit and on the recommendations of Central Selection Committee constituted for the purpose, preference is given to candidates belonging to SC/ST.
