(i) Research Fellowships in Various Aspects of Tribal Development

Eligibility: Masters Degree in Social Sciences, Agricultural Sciences and Medicine etc. Number of Fellowships: 25. Duration: 2 years + extension up to 1 year. Value: Doctoral: Rs.2800 p.m. Contingency Grant: Rs.10000.

(ii) Scheme of National Overseas Scholarship

Eligibility: 1st class or 60% marks or equivalent grade in relevant Masters’ Degree {2nd class with 50% for STs). 2 years teaching/ research/professional experience/MPhil degree in the concerned field. Age: 35 years the specified date.

No. of Scholarships: 30 per year (SC 17; ST 9; Denotified, Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Tribes 1; Scheduled Caste Converts to other religion- 2; Landless Agricultural Labourers and Traditional Artisans- 1). Duration: 4 years.

Value: Maintenance allowance US $ 770 pa. Maintenance allowance for United Kingdom Pound Sterling 5000 pa. Contingency Grant: US$ 500 pa and for candidates in United Kingdom Pound Sterling 325 pa.

Others Allowances: Actual charges will be paid, wherever applicable

1. Actual visa fees in Indian rupees

2. Equipment Allowances: Rs.1100

3. Incidental journey expenses: Up to US$ 15 or its equivalent in Indian rupees.

The awardees are permitted to supplement their prescribed allowances by undertaking Research/Teaching Assistantship up to US$ 2400 pa and for awardees in United Kingdom, Pound Sterling 1560 pa.
