University of Burdwan


The University in Burdwan was started in 1960, and awarded 4 star status by NAAC is a public university located in Bardhaman, West Bengal. The University is a member of The Association of Indian Universities (AIU). The university provides many graduate, Postgraduate and Diploma & Certificate Programmes.

Library at the University of Burdwan:

The Central Library is housed in a two-storied building in the Golapbag campus. It has a carpet area of about 12,000 sq ft. The library opens from 7-30 am to 6 pm except Saturdays and Sundays when it remains open from 10 am to 5 pm. There are 19 departmental libraries in the Golapbag campus attached to the respective departments.

 

Computer Centre at the University of Burdwan

The Universityof Burdwan provides a Computer Centre. The University has implemented campus-wide Fiber Optic LAN with Gigabit backbone at the academic campus (Golapbag). The services are provided to all the departments round the clock through out the year. The OPAC service of the SOUL software maintained by the Central Library is extended to all the departments through the LAN.
